The Truth Is Out There

NY Post;

Some of the most prevalent UFO conspiracy theories — including about aliens being housed at Area 51 in Nevada — were fueled by the Pentagon in an attempt to provide cover for secret weapons programs, according to a bombshell report.

A review by the Department of Defense found that in the 1980s, an Air Force colonel visited a Nevada bar near Area 51 and gave the owner fabricated photos of flying saucers near the secret government base, according to a review of the 2024 report by the Wall Street Journal.

The incident renewed local fervor over UFOs, with the now-retired colonel confessing to Pentagon investigators that he was on an official mission to spread disinformation and hide the true purpose of the site, where the government was testing the first-ever stealth warplane, the F-117 Nighthawk.

And lots more.

  1. And yet people still believe in UFOs. Because they want to believe in UFOs, because they want to believe in space, because they’ve been taught that it exists. And because they believe it exists, untold billions of their money is spent on “space” research, exploration, weapons, etc.

    As well as lots and lots of money for drones, antenna arrays, high altitude balloons, and insane amounts of helium. The latter list for actual, practical reasons.

  2. I always fallback to the same obstacle of extraterrestrial life showing up on Earth. H.G. Wells, in my opinion, nailed it. No extraterrestrial entity will last more than a few days on our world before the illness starts. Just take a single gallon of sea water as an example and you have 10 to the 35th power number of bacterial and viruses (just in that single bucket). Extraterrestrials will not have sufficient immunity to withstand that which is why we have never met or seen an extraterrestrial, and never will.

    Ironically, humans will not have the ability to withstand the viruses/ bacteria of new found worlds either, so this whole space program nonsense is a waste of money as well.

    1. I’m not clear that this will necessarily be the case. Alien life forms may be so different from humans and the other fauna and flora here on earth that bacteria and viruses might have no effect on them at all.

      Imagine a silicon or germanium-based life form that uses fluorine or bromine for respiration.

  3. That the various “Area 51” rumours were cover stories for military test flights is not news. The fact that the Pentagon was deliberately stoking them is amusing, but a small detail.
