In a couple of years from now, what will change? The gov’t debt will be 2x … perhaps the Canadian dollar will have fallen to its natural level without aid of Alberta’s natural resources propping it up.
I don’t know how badly that will affect the gov’t debt, perhaps we could talk next about having gold or Bitcoin backed currency?
Canada doesn’t have an gold reserves, so it can’t be gold backed. Right now it’s somewhat oil backed, but penalized because of government disfunction in doing anything with said oil.
And yet no one objected to speech from the throne, because they didn’t want to accidently bring the government down, so there was no recorded vote.
That doesn’t sound like a “brutal week”.
