  1. I can even tell you which tribes. It’s simple. Some of the Cree tribes formed an agreement with the RCMP for police service. Some didn’t. About 3 or 4 weeks ago there was a post on this site noting a certain Cree Tribe putting a curfew in place. They didn’t sign on with the RCMP and were responding to an increase in strangers showing up in their neighborhoods.

At the time I noted that most of these visitors likely spoke Spanish. It’s a perfect set-up. No law enforcement presence, and plenty of money to spread around. Of course the Cartels are exploiting indigenous “sovereignty”. Duh.

  2. If they want to be “nations”, I suggest we treat them as such. Secure the borders of Canada with the reserves, and treat transportation blockades as an act of war.

  3. The reserves are still Canadian territory, subject to Canadian law. As far as I know they have the same legal status as land patents, nothing more.

  4. Well … since money laundering is the second largest Canadian industry after logging … I guess this is good news for your economy!
