  1. It takes me 3 weeks to get a letter from Miami Florida to Calgary.

    This was in March 2025

    You want to strike, why?

  2. Wasn’t there a strike about 5 months ago??

What’s this one over, they don’t Ike the color of pavement??

    1. Yes, there was a strike. The government ordered it put on pause, and that pause has now come to an end.

  3. Many gov’t institutions were put into place because of tech limitations of some era. IE, libraries were put into place where you needed an actual physical copy of a book/magazine, and those were expensive. Public TV / CBC put into place when you needed a frequency and expensive stuff to have a broadcast. And mail service was put into place before we had private carriers that are just as good, before first class was replaced by email/SMS, and scans/FAX of the original were deemed just as good as the originals.

    Shut it down.

  4. Oh no! This is going to have a big impact on all the paper that I put straight in the recycle bin.

    And how about those Leafs?

  5. Yawn. Only because I hate the bank and utilities more I would go all online and be done with the postal service. And that we just bought 100 stamps before the last strike

  6. And although no one gives a $hit, the communist propaganda agencies masquerading as news outlets will make it a top story. And our corrupt politicians will pretend to be pressured into giving the stalwart NDP “workers” more of our money.

This is the standard operating procedure for the POSs that mis-rule us.

  7. Starting Friday at midnight? Isn’t one of the big issues that postal workers don’t work weekends? And therefore can’t compete against UPS, Fedex or Perkulator.
Business will continue shifting it’s mail to private services hollowing the post office out more.

  8. Wait for CBC/CTV and the rest of the over bribed MSM try to blame it on Trump. Elbows up!

  9. Come on now … what government UNION worker doesn’t deserve a BIG raise!? And now that you’ve got a Liberal government … well … the time is ripe. Ripe with BIG, FREE, taxpayer dollars. Enough dollars for them to buy stuff from America … in America. Elbowing all those ugly Americans clogging the aisles.

  10. Just another useless and prohibitively expensive reminder of the way things used to be … like the CBC.

  11. Interestingly, Canada Post is the only way to have firearms delivered – and right to your door! None of the couriers will ship firearms. Maybe this is another evil plan – shut down Canada Post and no more shipping of firearms in Canada….

    1. Yeah…and the useless arseholes will just leave the firearm on your doorstep if you’re not home when they deliver.

    2. Can’t you just pick them up at the gun shop? I don’t know, not having ordered one. My bad.

      1. Yup.
But the Gun Shops are disappearing like white people serving coffee at a Timmy’s.

  12. Indeed, let them stay out forever. Snail Mail is no longer a necessity, when the majority of deliveries are nothing more than bird cage liner and recyclables.

    Buggy whips anybody?

  13. Eliminate their monopoly on first class mail delivery and give Canada Post to its employees as a form of privatization (without the messy severance and notifications). See how long the comrades of CUPW last in their collective bliss as a taxpaying corporation forced to compete for business.

    1. It’s illegal in Canada to deliver first class mail cheaper than Canada Post.

  14. I live rurally and get mail twice a week. And it’s still mostly junk mail. Oh, and I have to drive around 15km to grab it. Moving it to once a week would be just fine.

  15. Let them strike for 6 months. By the time they settle maybe they will be replaced.

  16. Carney’s going to borrow another $Billion forever for the CBC, why not bail out Canada Post too? They’ll vote Liberal! When does Canada get its next Credit Rating downgrade?

  17. Big trouble down here at the buggy whip factory! How will we ship all the orders that have been pouring in!

  18. It’s a crappy old ship that nobody wants. The sea is coming over the gunwales.
I know what! Let’s chop some holes in the hull and see if that gets us a raise!

  19. Every time they go on strike, the number of clients who pay my business by EFT and E-transfer increases.
I haven’t mailed out a statement in 18 years and if I never received another cheque in the mail, it would have zero effect on me so long as the money still arrived electronically.

Very few businesses can afford a fully unionized staff.
Basically it’s down to government jobs and just a handful of industries.

Canada Post can be broken up and sold off for parts as far as I’m concerned.
Make it a two ‘fer and include the CBC with it.

  20. I’m pretty sure black African kids could do a cheaper, better job if they weren’t delivering food to fat, useless, overpaid Canadians who work for public service unions.

  21. FedEx has 14,000 Canadian employees and UPS 13,500. I’m pretty sure they could pick up the Canada Post balls and run with them.

    1. Bingo! And the private companies do the exact same thing as the govt. postal services for a fraction of the cost and still make money at it! It’s a teachable moment, (about socialism).

  22. While Canada Post is on strike, I won’t have to worry about my mail being delivered to a random neighbourhood house…
