As far as I can tell, 100% of the cult followers are women, though I have no doubt that some men might also be susceptible.

There must be some gene present in the brains of some women that lead them down such paths.

You just have to look at nature… in the great scene of the world, females are herd creatures while men are individuals. Sure there are majority beta males, trying miserably to gain entry into the herd. Versus alpha males who screw the whole herd. In mammals the typical ratio is one alpha breeds 17 females, while betas breed none, and females WANT it this way, it’s just that beta males don’t believe it and females, they disimulate.
Marriage, as put forth after the fall in the garden… greatest invention of all time. It put 16 extra beta males to work to get poontang they were denied by biology.
This is the cause of cults, which are 75 to 80 percent female. It’s also why harems work. Women are more social and try to fit into the herd.

You are alluding to alpha/beta observations made in a wolf study that the researcher himself has come out and stated was flawed from its inception. He was studying wolves in captivity which is an unnatural state for that animal and later went on to discredit his own study after observing the wild ones.
Wolves, while social, are not people; wolves in captivity don’t display a normal social hierarchy due to the unnatural state they find themselves living. Hint: they are far more sophisticated and nuanced.
Yet here we are, with people unquestioningly following the observations made by said study as a prescription for how human society works (typically following the gurus that set it forth), believing that this is “the answer!” to all of human social constructs. Rather cult-ishly I might observe.
PS. the alpha/beta construct isn’t workable, and you wouldn’t want it to even if it did — it’s a, very defective, command/control structure with inherent fragilities that break down rather quickly (see “communism”). There’s a reason it isn’t used for INDOC. There’s a reason good dog trainers (dogs being the closest domestic equivalent to wolves) don’t use it either; if you happen to chance across one that does, walk the other way.

Oh, here we go. Yes, the alpha/beta terminology comes from wolf packs, but the behaviour comes from primate studies – chimpanzees and gorillas, mostly – where it absolutely holds.
You know where else it absolutely holds? All of human history. There are genes that are only carried on the Y chromosome, so you can track reproduction rates by sex across hundreds of thousands of years. The TL;DR is that for 200,000 years until the dawn of agriculture and permanent settlements, 80% of women passed their genes on to the next generation. 80% of men did not. That means harems. Look at any poor community where marriage is delegitimized – urban black, rural white, doesn’t matter – look at all the young criminals running around with multiple baby mamas. Look at Elon Musk. Look at Nick Cannon. This is humanity reverting to its original evolved behaviour.
The fact that you don’t like any of this doesn’t make it any less true.
Also, you’ve misinterpreted the wolfpack study yourself. The difference isn’t captivity. It’s that until the ability to do DNA testing was available it was assumed wolf packs in the wild were merely social groups. They’re not. They’re family groups. The alpha wolves are the parents of the rest of the pack.
That’s why the wolf pack study was flawed. It consisted of animals in captivity that weren’t family groups. Therefore they did not interact in a manner natural to wolf social biology. Even the chimps’ social hierarchies are far more nuanced than a strict alpha/beta pattern; they live in family groupings that have nuanced inter-group hierarchy behaviors.
Nevertheless, we are not wolves, nor elephant seals, nor chimpanzees. I am sorry that this appears to offend you, but just as men cannot be women, humans are not animals. Granted, this may have more to do with belief, but that belief has carried human civilization quite far. It wasn’t just opposable thumbs that gave us the great cathedrals and the Constitution.

I think we can accept human nature without yielding to determinism. I think we have an obligation to understand who we are and what we want to do, so that we can then decide responsibly how to do what the Lord wants us to do. The Lord massed up mud and clay and then breathed life into it. It’s as wrong to deny the mud and clay as it is to deny the breath.
