        1. Oh, that’ll work out just swell, the government running a steel business. The government can’t even run the government, let alone a lemonade stand.

      1. “Quiet quitting” is another name for this.

Everyone should be doing to the fullest of their ability right now.

“There is a difference between our strike and all those you’ve practiced for centuries: our strike consists, not of making demands, but of granting them. We are evil, according to your morality. We have chosen not to harm you any longer. We are useless, according to your economics. We have chosen not to exploit you any longer. We are dangerous and to be shackled, according to your politics. We have chosen not to endanger you, nor to wear the shackles any longer. We are only an illusion, according to your philosophy. We have chosen not to blind you any longer and have left you free to face reality—the reality you wanted, the world as you see it now, a world without mind.

“We have granted you everything you demanded of us, we who had always been the givers, but have only now understood it. We have no demands to present to you, no terms to bargain about, no compromise to reach. You have nothing to offer us.

        We do not need you.”

    1. It is good that Canada is getting the Rivers, the argument about costs is notoriously unreliable and typically involves comparing apples to oranges.

As for South Korean offers vs realizations … just ask Poland.

      1. So why is AUS paying $3.3 billion CAD per ship, and Canada is paying $4.65 Billion CAD per ship?

        1. Because those are different ships?
Have you seen a good analysis comparing those two designs?
How about contract details (a synopsis by someone competent I am not going to read the whole thing)?
What are the differences in terms of sensors, weapons, propulsion etc?
What will either ship be fitted for but not equipped and hence the price of sensor/weapon not be included in the price of the hull?

  1. “Fifteen Years Before Kennedy, Zionists Murdered Forrestal

    James Forrestal’s strange death

Forrestal had been Roosevelt’s Secretary of the Navy from April 1944. With consolidation of the armed services under Truman in 1947, he became the first Secretary of Defense.

He opposed the United Nations’ vote to partition Palestine, and protested vigorously against U.S. recognition of Israel on May 15, 1948, on the ground that U.S. interests in the Middle East would be seriously jeopardized by American sponsorship of a Jewish state.

For this, Forrestal received “an outpouring of slander and calumny that must surely be judged one of the most shameful intervals in American journalism,” in the words of Robert Lovett, then Under Secretary of State. Truman replaced Forrestal on March 28, 1949—shortly after his reelection—by the man who had been his main fundraiser, Louis Johnson. According to the received story, Forrestal, who was psychologically exhausted, fell into depression immediately. On April 2, 1949, he was interned against his will in the military hospital of the Navy in Bethesda, Maryland, a Washington, DC, suburb, where he was forcibly confined for seven weeks. He fell to his death from the 16th floor at 1:50 in the morning of May 22, 1949, landing on the roof of the third floor. He had a dressing-gown sash tied around his neck.”

    1. Totally agree, C…
It may already be too late, even for Alberta. The opportunity to assert our independence may be slipping away, and who knows what will replace it.
We’ve been invaded. They have gained a foothold into our province, never mind the country. What’s happening in Ottawa saddens me, and makes me feel glad I left, but I’m beginning to now see that nobody can just run away from this.

    Meanwhile…
Lucy Connolly dared to express her outrage after three British girls were brutally murdered by a Muslim terrorist. For that—not for violence, but for words—she was arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced to 31 months in prison.

    1. I spent my undergraduate summers at an oil refinery/gas plant 50 years ago. That place had a lot of potential hazards and, if one could go through the gate in one piece at quitting time, one had a good day.

Wearing a hardhat was mandatory and, one day, doing to kept me out of a hospital when I was hit on the head with loading spout we were working on.

In that same facility, hydrogen sulphide was always a hazard because the plant took in sour gas. I was in situations where I had to wear a face mask and air bottle because in case there was a leak. In order for that mask to work properly, one had to be clean-shaven, so no beards were allowed as there might not have been a proper seal.

But, none of that will be a problem to the WSO, will it? After all, the oil and gas industry will soon be a thing of the past once Carnigula anoints himself as God Emperor.

  4. We’re two weeks from the election. In my riding of Leduc-Wetaskiwin, the only candidate with signs up is the conservative. No Liberal or NDP or Greens or anything. I’m hearing rumors it’s like this all across the country. Can anyone confirm? What’s it look like in your riding?

    1. Earlier this past week, I walked over to the SuperStore located a few blocks from where I live.

My route took me through a residential area but I never noticed any election signs, not that I was looking for any. I know I live in Dipper territory because, in the past, people would advertise their political sympathies and many of those signs were for Rachel the Rancid or Heather “I love Hamas” McPherson.

I noticed that there was a Conservative sign lying flat on the lawn in front of one of the ground floor apartments in my building. I don’t know if it had been discarded or if the tenant had set it up and some miscreant came by and removed it. Mind you, I don’t know if that sort of thing is allowed in the complex, so it could also have been a staff member if it was prohibited.
