Will the gov’t plant 2 billion (or was it 10 billion?) trees in their front yards?
If the standard construction contract rate for electricians and plumbers is $80/hour, will the construction rate for gov’t contracts be $140/hour? Where will the gov’t get these qualified Red Seal construction workers from? If your house is constructed with sub standard or “non compliant trades workers” will the insurance rate for it be 1.5x or 2x the current rate? Are the new gov’t overseers going to instruct the insurance providers what they’re allowed to charge as well?
With provincial and municipal permits taking 20% of the cost of housing in some areas, will the federal gov’t be overriding these requirements for gov’t houses? Will the gov’t be instructing the trades training schools to cancel their requirements for entry so they have someone qualified to build these?
Will these houses look similar to the type of houses built in Canada in the early 1970’s? 900 ft bungalows on smaller footprints with single 4×4 on posts for the back fence?
Will these houses be similar to what I’ve seen on Indian Reserves built in the 80’s? Those houses…. well they need work. All of them.

I’ve seen this coming for years as they have criminalized making a profit from providing housing while ensuring a shortage through land availability and regulations. They’ll rationalize the need by calling the shortage a “market failure”.
