    1. I have posted this before and will again post this. Finished re-reading a book called “A Man Called Intrepid” about Canadian William Stevenson who was actively involved and instrumental in setting up ULTRA at Bletchley Park and setting up OSS, under Bill Donovan, in the United States, the prequel to the CIA. This was 1939-1940. Intrepid and Winston Churchill were great friends and could see as early as the mid-1930’s that another major war was coming. I also learned a lot of good things about President Roosevelt and that Joseph Kennedy was a major “shit” and actively supporting the Nazi Party. He hated the British (Kennedy had immigrated from Ireland) and he hated the Jews (who were much better at business than he was).
      I think it is very important to understand history and current events. Hopefully, people will be able to “connect the dots”, but our K-12 education system has “dumbed down” the population so much, I do not think that will happen.

    I was a sophomore in HS in 1972, and I left my dads apartment (my home), because my brother had just moved out at age 18, and my alcoholic father literally kept no food in the house. I “ran away”? I guess so … because I never told my father where I went for quite some time. He was too drunk to care. So here I am … living in an upper, upper middle class S.F. suburb … literally going hungry as a sophomore in HS. So I moved in/was taken in by a woman my father had met in a bar and she befriended my brother and I.

    I literally had to hitchhike to school my entire Sophomore year in HS from the next city over. Yeah, you could actually do that in 1972, in CA. Yeah … hitchhiking to-and-from-HS every single day. Not fun. And my own HS teachers would drive by me every single day and never stop to give me a ride or even think to ask me why I had to hitchhike every single day. It never occurred to them that I might be living out of the school district or living without a family or real home. And it got even worse than that … but that’s another story.

    Yeah, I was totally embarrassed by not having a normal life or family … but by the time I was a sophomore in HS I was wayyyyy past feeling sorry for myself and was just trying to survive and pretend to all my friends that my life was as normal as theirs. Victim? Me? Hell NO. I never saw myself as a victim. I just needed to survive … and thrive the best I could.
