A federally-sponsored advocacy group yesterday admitted to contacting a convention hall over its rental of space to a group critical of the Liberal Party. The taxpayer-subsidized Canadian Anti-Hate Network acknowledged making the call but denied acting at the government’s direction.

Since 2015, the Liberal government has “invested” over $3 Trillion (with a T), in non-profit organizations and NGOs – without oversight, debate, or even public announcement.

Since Trudeau too office, the federal government has quietly been disbursing hundreds of billions of dollars a year to NGOs and even privately owned aboriginal companies who engage in advocacy. This has been from everything from “Energy Companies” like Kambo Energy Group – which advocates for decarbonization, to advocacy groups for advancing reproductive rights for women in Africa. The problem is, finding this information isn’t easy, because while it’s ostensibly public, you have to look in several places.

The problem is that you can withhold a lot of information from the public while still complying with reporting rules by simply making that information abstruse and opaque.
