Somehow because the cause is dubiously considered virtuous it becomes sugarcoating. The government’s corruption is rivaled only by it’s incompetence. It needs a full Milie. Argentina’s economy is set to grow by over 7% I might add. Can you imagine what Canada could do if the federal government were reduced by 85%?
So, Ottawa is worse than those Chinese companies who sell 18650 li-ion batteries with a claimed 7000 Ah capacity.

What kills me about EVs are their cost. I was skiing in Fernie and below my balcony was a GMC EV and I had no idea what it was … turns out it is the pick-up truck version of the Hummer. But what blew me away was the 120,000 buck price tag …. likely higher with the top trim levels. Yikes that is insane to save a few bucks at the gas pump.
Likely a company vehicle and likely leased but still cha-ching cha-ching!!!
Actually what will really kill you about EV’s are when their batteries catch fire and explode.
And it is UGLY.
“Cheaper to operate than gasoline engines” … yeah … try charging them in PG&E’s grid. MORE $$$ than gasoline. Don’t worry … when everyone has an electric vehicle … your $/KwH will catch up to ours … and quick.

In my misspent youth I was a junior bureaucrat,every tax payer should be forced to sit in on government committee meetings.
You simply cannot conceive of the stupidity encapsulated in these meeting of drones.

True Believers get right hostile when you point out the downside of EVs. I finally had to tell one idiot good luck on his road trip with batteries operating at 40% capacity. He claimed his car would be just fine with batteries operating in the forty to eighty per cent range.
