Forget the WEF, the WTC, and WHO. After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington today, the new reigning international body is WTF! Did that really happen?

Zelensky’s much-anticipated meeting with Donald Trump and J.D. Vance Friday afternoon led to one of the weirdest Oval Office scenes in history. What started as nervous diplomacy ended as a Three Stooges pie-fight, with the black-costumed Ukrainian leader leaving as two eyeholes covered in cream.

Trump and Vance fared better, but were clearly taken by surprise. Both were expecting Zelensky to sign a deal forking over $500 billion in rare earth development rights in exchange for American funding during the the last three years of war. Not until early into the photo op did they realize they’d been punked.

This was the beginning of the end of the Zelensky legend. He came to Washington as the tough-talking spokesmodel for the “rules-based international order,” and left as a costumed pre-teen sent home with an empty trick-or-treat basket:

  6. I have watched the whole 50 minute press conference once, and the 7-minute fight scene multiple times. I’ve watched different clips from different angles; the most interesting one is a camera in amongst the press, where we can hear gasps of disbelief from people in the room. And of course, I’ve watched the little clip of Zelensky muttering something under his breath, which we are told is the Ukrainian word for bitch in reference to Vance.

    Something about the body language – particularly Zelensky’s body language – seems really off. Either Zelensky is not mentally well, or he is a narcissist of the first order, or he’s just an Eastern European; I see a lot of my Czech ex-father-in-law in his mannerisms, and my ex-father-in-law was a real asshole.

    I cannot help but think that this may have been staged. If it was staged, for whom would it have been staged, and to what purpose? Could this be a ruse to sway Putin or the EU?

      Interjecting with that diplomacy thing triggered JD and interrupting Trump with that ‘beautiful ocean’ stupid thing was the last straw for POTUS.
      Anyway, hard to watch but I still think everything had a bit of premeditation, something like ‘give me one reason to kick you out’.

      Trump long ago figured out how to deal with any of the Russian-“Jewish” big-shots in New York’s real estate world who tried to bully him into a bad deal. Zelensky’s antics may have worked on Biden and in European capitals. The Israelis saw right through him, and so did Trump, who knew all his tricks, shut them down, and told Zelensky to come back serious about making a deal that wouldn’t be an obvious screwjob or not at all.

  7. Zelensky is an entertainer who ran for president as a publicity stunt, somehow won, and was in over his head from the start. There’s a good possibility he’ll go down in history as the man who oversaw the undoing of “Ukraine.”

    In other words, he’s exactly what the know-it-alls have been claiming Trump is, the difference being that the know-it-alls refused to admit it even to themselves, no matter how obvious it was to normal people like JD Vance and Donald Trump.

    And it’s Trump who’s desperately trying not to start wars with countries who pose no real threat to Americans. Zelensky was the one who thought he could win a war with Russia, a feat even Hitler and Napoleon couldn’t accomplish. He will fail.

    Trump wants no part of such lunacy. No government who meant their people well would. The Israelis did not, and wisely remaining neutral in the war.

    (I suspect we’re here now because Naftali Bennett refused to offer Zelensky asylum at the first shot fired by the Russians. If so, Bennett did the right thing by the Jewish people, who owe the European globalists less than nothing.)

      2. One problem I have with Dr. Doctorow (who is a historian and not a geologist) is he said “if it paid to develop those resources, the Soviets would have done so”. I disagree. Lithium, graphite, and rare earth minerals weren’t a big thing back in the Soviet days because wind turbines and electric batteries were not in commercial production in any big way. So why would the Soviets mine them? He admits that about 30% of these minerals are in the Russian controlled part of Ukraine. I don’t think he has does an exhaustive review of minerals in Ukraine (which others are now doing). There is certainly a lot of iron ore in Ukraine and that is a good sign for the prospectivity of other minerals.

        I imagine sometime in history someone said words to the effect of, “there is no way to get oil from those tar-sands.”

        1. The thing is that US manufacturers are making a lot of money modernizing US military while utilizing old gear in Ukraine and even more money with the occasional sale of modern gear. There is talk to use frozen in Europe russian assets to buy weapons in US for Ukraine. That would be something that Trump would probably agree with.

          Europe will try also to fill the void. Europe as a whole has been more generous than US during the last three years. Then there is a fact that Ukrainians have saved a lot of heavy gear and expanded their own production potential. there are bottlenecks like Patriot for sure, but a lot that came from US can be replaced by comparable gear. The fear of russia is growing in Europe, and it is growing especially as it dawns on them that they may not be able to count on US (which coincidently is what Trump wanted). So they will probably do all they can to help Ukraine stay in the fight.

          Thus I am worried about sanctions staying in place more than about frontlines collapsing. If trump decides to lift the sanctions on Pootinistan and especially the secondary sanctions against Chicoms and Indians trading with orks this will be a much greater threat. Contrary to what many “think” here, sanctions have been very effective – orks would not be begging that they are lifted at every talk.

  34. First term Trump, I defended to all my fellow Canadian friends. And in the period between terms I did as well. If I were American I would have voted for him largely because I am sick of the “woke” direction of politics. But this performance with President Velensky was the last straw. Trump is a prize f’kn asshole and if anyone dishonours the American people it is him. Zelensky isn’t playing a board game or jockeying to outsmart a land developer. He is trying to save his country from a ruthless, egotistical dictator (Putin not Trump) and all he gets is a bunch of ill informed bullshit from the would be dictator (Trump not Putin) and what turned out to be a preplanned Oval Office spectacle to boost Trumps ego. F’k him and Vance and Musk. The American people are, sadly, going to regret their choice. And even more sadly, second choice wasn’t worth crap either.

    As long as Canada, UK and the EU are willing to fork over billions.. Zel has no reason to roll over in the short term.. Malignant NATO politics.. Where all the member States are not on the same page when it comes to offensive operations..

    But then again, NATO is not designed for offensive operations.. Even if it is needed.. NATO is a relic of the past where WW3 is the answer for everything.. Soft power isn’t working anymore..

    If NATO didn’t exist.. Any number of nations could offer direct military aid without blowing up the world..
