Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The castle on the hill makes me think of Monty Pythons.
Where did I leave my coconuts?
We used to tape a bunch of tin cans together with both ends cut out, except for the bottom one, where we would poke a hole in the bottom of that one, then use a “churchkey” a punch style can opener, to turn the other end of the bottom one into a kind of grid. You would squirt lighter fluid into the hole in the bottom, spin it around a few times to evaporate it in there, and put a match to it. Bang! Not sure which dad in the neighborhood taught us kids that trick.
We used to put a firecracker and a few small stones into a spent .303 cartridge and shoot the stones at each other.
