1. Given that the Pentagon has been known to pay $1000 for a toilet seat, I’d say presenting CNN with an itemized bill for the $10 000 000 in damages they did is in order.

   1. And tack on interest, and refuse press privelidges until they pay up. Needs to be a whole lot more of the “find out” part of the equation for the “press” at large.

2. Watching the series “Mad Men” one of the partners of Sterling Cooper ad agency insists all visitors take their shoes off before entering his carpeted office. There’s a reason for that.
   CNN should have a species of mold named after them.

   1. I loved “Mad Men”. The character is the one who loves Japanese culture. The actor portraying him got his start in the movies, in the early 1960’s, starring in “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying!” I thought it was a very fitting bookend for him to be in “Mad Men”.

3. What am I missing here? Whenever I’ve seen freshly vacated commercial or office space, it’s always looked like that. Other than CNN’s own credibility, what’s been trashed?

   1. Agreed – I’ve seen more than my share of recently vacated space and it all looks like this. CNN is commie trash of course but I’m trying to ID any specific damage, and all is see is an unvacuumed and undusted office.

      1. Agreed with both of you. I too have had to deal with clearing out rental offices. There’s nothing unusual here whatsoever. LM, you are not missing anything. The office looks rather clean after a move-out. If this was a normal commercial operation, the former tennant would be entitled to the return of their security deposit. There is no apparent damage whatsoever.

   3. They do get to take their own stuff, even the attached and wired in stuff.

4. Send CNN the repair bill, and be sure to hire contractors employed by the Biden admin. so the billing price is right.

6. Seems like CNN must rotate their office space to other news orgs… just like others… and has been aware of the rotating since January. So CNN wasn’t evicted by anything they did, it’s just new policy to let others get the room for a year. I guess when CNN comes back to the room, perhaps the prior occupants can leave it just like they did. It will just be a common thing to spend the first two days replacing carpet and updating the space by the new news peeps.

7. Interesting ducting running around the lower walls. Haven’t seen anything like it, at least not to that extent.

   1. Wire molding raceways, probably several generations of modular furniture worth.
      Electricians probably abandoned the old each time they renewed the workstations. Lots of copper could be salvaged from “the world’s largest office building.”
      The space condition is excellent. Lots of time and effort in that drop ceiling. Pristine. The blinds look good too. The plywood is blocking for the tack boards. The carpet is worn, and given CNN, probably smells like feet and old potatoes. I wouldn’t luminol. Just get it to the incinerator ASAP.

         That’s probably it…new on top of old. Some of it is likely filled with Cat 5e, too.
