I don’t think people realize just how much Chinese investment there is in US companies. Many US white shoe law firms have massive China practices which facilitate enormous (both in terms of $$$ and frequency) investments by China in US technology industries, often through veiled entities like Cayman Island corporations. In my practice of law, I have long been stunned at just how much Chinese investment there is in our key technology businesses. If I am reading the tea leaves correctly, this EO is a signal that basically ALL Chinese investment in US companies will cease, and what Chinese holdings currently exist may require divestment.

But it’s Israel and Russia that the supposed best and brightest of the western world want to boycott, divest from and sanction. Not Red China. The “elites” know the dragon is a monster. As long as the dragon helped them get and stay rich, and didn’t eat them, they didn’t care.
Why? Simple. The Chinese don’t pretend to believe in the Lord of Hosts, so they are not a threat to the godless “elites” of the West. No Jews, no news.
Needless to say, Trump has no intention of tolerating any American’s giving aid and comfort to enemies of the United States (and the entire civilized world).
What are the elites afraid of? This: that woke capitalism will collapse the minute Woke Eall Street can no longer rely on Chinese “investment,” and their enterprises have to start subsisting on accounts receivable and pay Americans an honest day’s wage for an honest day’s pay. It’s a rare publicly-traded corporation that won’t have to seriously re-think their business model—including their approaches to recruitment and public relations.
To put it another way, corporate wokeness is a Chinese communist initiative to turn their enemies against each other. If cutting off Red Chinese money doesn’t rid us of DEI and Woke Wall Street’s subsidizing the recruitment campaigns of militant pedophiles (among countless other follies), it’s hard to see what could.
Wokeness originated with a bunch called The Frankfurt School. They were Jews.

In a tangentially related vein, a couple of years ago, the Epoch Times had a two-page spread of denizens in the C-suites of all the major global institutions i.e., WHO, etc. Maybe 30 in all. In just about every one, China had the top, number two or number three spots. The CCP has infested everything.
MFN status for China began with Bill Clinton, and hopefully ends with Donald Trump.
There will now ensue a massive legal battle while wholly CCP-owned politicians (think Biden Cartel) fight to defend and maintain China’s economic war on the West.This will certainly be reflected in next week’s headlines in the MSM.

Money, Ideology, Compromise or Ego are the big 4 motivations used by the intelligence services to control people. They can also be used in combination.

How much of this is ChiCom shenanigans and how much is just Chinese people desperately trying to get their money the hell out of communist China. It’s probably too risky to sort it out. However, sending Chinese wealth back to China is a win for the ChiComs. Removing Chinese wealth from American companies will make American companies worth less. Tradeoffs.
