Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose.
Canada VS USA, 2002.
Canada VS USA, 2025.
Canadians booed the United States anthem at #4Nations so we destroyed them with our fists & on the scoreboard.
Continual classless actions like this deserve a beatdown. Well done, USA hockey 👏 pic.twitter.com/yh4zlLTOUU

Indeed: Good thing your fkn hero was there with you
The misperception of this behavior as some kind of patriotic response, has been intentionally cultivated by a State media propaganda project that involves ALL “Trusted Media” in Canada. They are fomenting a trade war and precipitating a Canadian economic collapse, as a scapegoat for a decade of corrupt and failed governance.

Canada cancelled Don Cherry. The beginning of our terminal decline.

Hahahaha ha ha ha … we’re renaming Canada, America del Norte’
This is a petty, small-minded country that was created on a wave of anti-Americanism and anti-republicanism after its founders were on the losing side of the American Revolution and exiled to live with the frenchmen in the north. It has not matured since.
Hey, Kate, since you love America more than this place, why don’t you “go, already”?
Irving was probably one of those assholes running around in 2021 saying the unvaxxed should have their healthcare yanked and be loaded onto cattle cars.
She might. And the rest of Saskatchewan with her.
I’d settle for evicting Quebec and Hongcouver — not that I couldn’t come up with a longer list, but I’m a reasonable person.
Although I live in Quebec as a perfect bilingual growing up and agree with your opinion, I must reiterate here again that if you think English Canada has a biased and corrupt MSM, it pales in comparison with what is served as news in this province. Quebec has no alternatives like SDA, what’s on Facebook and other is obscure with little viewership at best.
Pure frenchies ,especially the older generations are as dumb as a sack of wet mice…fortunately the youth is waking up here, they are the only ones that I can dialogue intelligently with.
Canada’s salvation is now becoming the 51st state…Quebec will not have the means (they never did) to be independent
While in Montreal a few years ago, I rode The Metro. Surprise, in this officially bilingual country, all the signs and announcements were totally in French. I was okay, my French being adequate to take a bus or order a beer but it sure isn’t very friendly to visitors. Having lived there for a two years in the 70’s, I rather like the city but F them.
Quebek is not officially a “bilingual” Province… they are a french language Province.
The rest of Canada is a french and English country with less than 2% that can actually speak french.
New Brunswick is the only official “bilingual” province or Territory.
Bilingualism is a racket.
I did say in an officially bilingual country. You’re right, it’s a racket. All the major positions in government are held by Francophones because … who the f else is “bilingual”?
Re “Bang on”
Couldn’t agree more. Canuckistanians are being prepped with yet even more psy-ops.
As our living standards are crushed and reflected by our dollar, where would you suggest? Guyana? Venezuela?
A middle class Canadian, if there is such a thing, is a welfare case in the US.
It’s not “loving America more than the place”, it’s despising what 10 years of liberal rule (60+, really) have done to a once-proud and respected country.
Canada would have a better chance if Irving and all the shïtbag lib socialists left for cuba or china or whatever communist Utopia they believe in. That would rid Canada of a mindless, socialist, self-preening and non-contributing anti-American Borg and give the country a chance.
Win-win for all.
mhb23re
Irving B probably also had a gooey crotch when he heard that bank accounts were frozen.
irving b.;
She’s done more for this place than you have by very far; gave it life for instance.
you gave it negativity.
For Irving

We’d love to have her! Come to Florida, Flagler County, reddest of the red counties. You’ll love it here.
The booing of the American anthem shows poor form from the people at the Montreal Forum.
They’re generally the first fans to turn on their own as well when being entertained by a poor showing from the home town team, so I appreciate their forthrightness, though disagree with them on principle when it’s an international event rather than mere clubs.
Should it come to arms and a draft they’ll be crying the loudest against it…like they always do. Useless parasite cheese eaters.
Quebec City (a beautiful city) is usually crawling with Americans trying to spend their money and I don’t think the average American knows the difference between Montreal and Quebec City. So wish carefully.
Marc. The Montreal Forum closed in the mid 90’s. You’re referring to the Bell Centre, formerly known as the Molson Centre when it first opened.
Normally, I try not to correct people, because God knows I’m far from perfect myself, but this needed a clarification. Apologies.
I’m aware of The Forum, sometimes referred to as “The Shrine of World Hockey Excellence” being replaced by The Bell Centre, but I’m likely to refer to both as The Forum for another 30 years because I can’t be helped, in the same way as I refer to The Toronto Maple Leaves as the feeder team for the NHL, like Triple A baseball. Mostly to my dad who bought Toronto Maple Leaves hockey gloves for me when I was 8, and I never really used them. My nephews eventually used the gloves, my dad bought a Maple Leaves hockey sweater, and he didn’t appreciate any of my jokes about it. I’ll never stop, never.
Shouldn’t that be the Maple Laffs, sorta like the Calgary Flameouts.
I still remember when Calgary won it’s first Stanley Cup and all the sports reporters were talking about the beginning of a new hockey dynasty. Instead, Calgary didn’t even make the playoffs the following year.
I support equal opportunity of ridicule (not outcomes obviously) for all hockey clubs, all NFL teams especially, and generally all sports franchises, though I did think it was inspired to instruct the Canadian male hockey club at the Olympics to “play like girls” after the girl’s terrific performance …
My dad and I sparred over who could ridicule the Habs or Laffs the best when I was a kid, I switched to the Habs after the Bruins sold Bobby Orr down the river and sometimes return to the Bruins though..
Oh, I see… the way I refer to UnMe as UnReal.
Noted for future reference.
You’re not alone. It was a shrine to me. A place of reverence for fans of “les Habitants.
I was so upset when the Habs left the forum (I was still living in Montreal at the time) that I cursed the franchise saying that they would never win another Stanley Cup as long as they played in the Molson Center, which is what the rink was known at the time.
I visited the site of the Forum after they renovated the building. It’s a shopping plaza now, but they did keep some of the memorabilia from the forum’s hockey days. They made the central concourse look somewhat like the forum in it’s glory days
Marc,
You nailed it.
I’m from the US, Southern California actually, I was a hockey fan when a Calif hockey fan was one in a million. Hockey fan in general, LA KIngs’ fan specifically. Held season seats for 30 years until a couple years back. I would guess I attended a couple hundred games in which the Kings face the Oilers or Habs or one of the other Canadian teams. I Never booed Oh Canada, I never would, and I believe this to have been true of, if not all, most of the crowd. Of course the crowd wanted LA to beat the opponent, and might boo a play or alleged cheapshot, etc….but not the red maple leaf or Oh Canada. We’d have all considered doing so a total classless dog move. I was very disappointed, it was completely classless, for the crowds in Montreal to boo the US national anthem. Boo a Tkachuck, boo Charlie McAvoy, boo a US goal…totally understood. But don’t boo a US flag or anthem. I pray the fans in Boston will not reply in kind, I hope they are respectful of Oh Canada…I hope those fans can be the “bigger persons.” Of the “four major sports” in North America, I’ve always considered hockey players, and generally their fans, the classiest. Let’s hope that doesn’t change. Hockey people are better than this behavior.
The Boston fans will boo the American anthem as well. I went to a few games in Los Angeles back in the day while dating a crazed hockey fan from Philadelphia. He always rooted for the opposing team, while I rooted for Carol Vadnais. Ooo la la. He had a Corvette with Vadnais on the license plate.
What’s that I usually say about my fellow Canadians………Yep, they proved it once again.
Shrug. The only thing they were missing was to have a true Captain Canada – Ron Weasel MacLean – do the puck drop. Canada’s hockey world can all suck me arse for what it did to Don Cherry.
0n that i can agree
The irony is not lost on me that the province that wants to separate from Canada gave a rousing rendition of O Canada in front of an American hockey team.
If Canadians were smart, they’d reflect a bit about how this childish display contributed to the game outcome, and think about how keeping this infantile attitude might play out in the bigger US/Canada picture.
If they were smart …
The booing actually fired up the Katchuk brothers… that’s for sure, although the brawling at the start, IMHO was a black-eye for the game of hockey, and the booing was an embarrassment for the city, the province, and what’s left of the country.
I loved the Karma of the Americans kicking ass in front of the hostile crowd. I’ll bet there were quite a few disheartened fans clamoring to squeeze into a subway train at the Lucien-Lallier, or Bonaventure Metro stations after the game…
…and more karma! Montreal is about to get hit with a major winter storm… second time in a couple of days!
Gotta love the schadenfreude!
Bingo!
It was a fabulous “statement” and way to knock your opposition off kilter. The tactic was fairly successful.
It wasn’t a tactic, Kenji. It was a way for the Katchuks to blow off some steam, and get the team fired up. There was no strategy involved other than to raise the emotional level to 11 on a scale to 10.
In fact, from what I saw, the Americans were a bit flat-footed until about 5 minutes left in the first period, as they had to juggle lines for the first five minutes while the Katchuks and Miller was sitting out their majors, but thankfully (yes, I’m rooting for the Yanks. Didn’t I tell everyone? I identify as an American), they got it into gear and started running over the Canucks, closing down passing lanes into the middle, forcing Crosby to turn it over after a bad line change by the Canucks leading to the go-ahead goal for the Yanks.
…and those hits. The pivotal point of the game IMHO was when McDavid got clocked real good along the boards.
…and lets not ignore Hellebuyck standing on his head to keep the Canucks from tying the game in the third as the US was quite content to shut things down defensively, even though they only had a one-goal lead.
I didn’t express myself clearly enough, because you and I are in complete agreement. I had the pleasure of watching the game with my VERY hockey-saavy, Canadian son in law. It was really fun. He gave me much insight into the players and match details. And yes, he was disgusted by the booing … which made him root against his native Canada.
I thought Defenseman Noah Hanifin deserved the TOP accolades … but such awards rarely, if ever, go to Defensemen. He was sensational the whole match. And yeahhhh … defense beat the Canadians.
And McDavid is one hell of a player … who-baby! is he fast on his skates!
Just throw the hammer and sickle on our jerseys and call it a freakin’ day.
The game did have a real “Miracle on the Ice” feel to it … the emotions of two entire nations wrapped up in a hockey game
Montreal sports fans express their fondness for high taxes and life on their knees.
“You’re not a Good Canadian unless you’re sanctimoniously and obnoxiously anti-American.” Truer now than ever before.
As much as I am Canadian and try to be good, I won’t be a Good Canadian.
I try to NOT be a good Canadian!
Stay classy, Canada. The world is noting your childish tantrums and will treat you accordingly. I, for one, will not stand up for O Canada, let alone sing it. I’m much too ashamed of this infantile country.
When I go to ball games with my son now I deliberately take my seats late so I don’t have to stand for the anthem. Never again. Spring training starts this week.
“Stay classy, Canada. The world is noting your childish tantrums and will treat you accordingly. I, for one, will not stand up for O Canada, let alone sing it. I’m much too ashamed of this infantile country.”
Same here. I haven’t seen a puck drop on TV for years now, ever since Trudeau went ahead and changed the lyrics to Oh Canada despite 75% of the population being opposed to it.
Tip: Actual puck drop is usually about 10 minutes after the scheduled air time, so the next time you have the urge to watch the Cherry-less HNIC, tune in at about 10 minutes later to skip the pre-game hype, and the national anthems.
I love MLB and have seen many many games in the US. Montreal and Toronto as well.
I stand for the US national anthem. I doff my hat. I’m not disrespectful in a country that admits me as a guest. Just because someone acts like an asshole doesn’t mean that I’m one and join in.
I stated in a previous post I’m not as self loathing about Canada as some. I was privileged to be born in Canada. My forefathers were Germans from what is now Russia. A guy like me would have spent his life in Kolyma or worse if my GGf’s hadn’t bailed out. I weep for what Canada has become and what it could have been.
Pretty hard to sing “O Canada” – even without protesting disgust at the country’s leftist kamikaze mission – when the Libïshits change the words every time you turn around.

Fox news this morning: this behavior comes from a feeling of being inferior, the loser position.
So I continue to seek for the majority definition of Canadian identity. If this display is it we have need to accelerate the decline and start over.
This is Canada’s well deserved pathologic inferiority complex on full display. The only cure is to actually accomplish something and build on that. Easier said than done when your station in life is that of a smug arrogant feudal serf to the Crown. Good luck.
The only “cure” is to dismantle the country. The ultimate “MAiD!”
Very well put !!
This is sad. There is a YouTube video about the U.S./Canadian construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway. It is a rousing reminder of what our two nations could do for the common good. If you could fix your broken political class (CBC and its funders), we could return to being sons of a common mother.
Oh well at least the right team lost.
Who would be sad to see Kebec become the 51st state?
Americans, eventually.
Heh!
It will never come to that. Quebekkie would maybe become it’s own country or a French territory like Guadeloupe, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Martinique etc.
And good riddance.
More like Haiti imo… just more politically and intellectually corrupt.
Won’t happen. We are a cautionary tale to the US showing what happens when a country has a second culture in competition with the main one. Hell, even the RoC doesn’t want Quebec, let alone the US
mhb23re
Is there a metaphor playing out. How goes the Four Nations, so goes the larger cross border tussle?
Funny to see all the supposed “conservatives” take a page from Colin Kaepernick’s playbook.
9 years of the turd will do that to a country.
IQ Test For Canadian Urban Liberals:
Do you support the Loblaws high price boycott and also support the Quebec egg and dairy cartels which keeps prices high?
In 1996 our test team from China Lake attended Trial Embow VII at Cold Lake.
The bar was packed at the Lakeland for the final game of the World Cup. It was pretty drunk and rowdy. When the game ended, our table went crazy, then it got very quiet. Suddenly, pitchers of beer started arriving and you Canucks came over to shake hands and tell us Yanks what a great game and Cup it was.
That’s the Canada I remember and love… y’all are great people.
Thank you, and God bless the U.S.A.
That’s the Canada that I was once proud of.
Thanks for the kind words.
Now is the time when Kenji juxtaposes, eh

The Tkachuk Bros. are my new heroes! Slap those disrespectful Montreal fans with some good shots
from the article…
“It was their way of venting against Canada’s dominance as a hockey power.”
ROFL!
After exits from the quarter-finals of the World Junior Championships two years in a row, and now this? I would hardly consider Canada as a dominating hockey power.
Yeah … the media is in mass denial. Big surprise
Now that was a start to the game!!! Best I have seen for a long time. I think maybe there should be a rule requiring a couple fights in the first 5 minutes… and kill anthems and the yech land acknowledgments.
The land acknowledgements are definitely rubbing me the wrong way. I don’t like being characterized as some kind of thief stealing land from people, despite my never having anything to do with the country’s history.
And I may be breaking a few laws here, but I question if these lands truly belong to the natives. If they can blatantly lie about residential schools, prompting the country to rewrite it’s own history and cancel it’s founders, then anything they say should be questioned.
“They are fomenting a trade war and precipitating a Canadian economic collapse, as a scapegoat for a decade of corrupt and failed governance.”
This. Exactly this.
“YEGWave” proves that when Alberta finally separates, Edmonton will be carved out and left as a Kanadian enclave.
The 2 games tomorrow are in Boston and the final game is in Boston and the Americans are in it.
Be funny if Americans just sat there and didn’t even acknowledge the shitty Canadian anthem – saying the Canadians beat the Fins tomorrow…
Heh, if the Fins win, they’re going to get a rematch with the USA on Thursday.
That could happen.
I’m counting on it! Nothing would sap the arrogant little Canuckistanians more than their best in hockey not making it into the final game.
To many confuse love of country with love of government.
The lieberals and progressive conservatives have embraced this lie.
And the lemmings fall in line.
Hockey was once upon a time, a Canadian dominated sport with American leagues giving tough, often defeating consequences …now because of wealth and much larger popularity , the US dominates hockey…by joining the States we would no longer have that stigma.
Make the Canadian territory great again
Canadians killed Canadian Hockey because it was too tough for others Country’s to adapt and play the “Canadian Game.”
The NHL plays a dumbed down version of Hockey that has been played by the NCAA for decades.
Hockey Canada is a woke pile of shit that has converted Canadian Hockey into the NCAA style game… and the Canadian game is by all reasonable conclusions, dead.
Americans have the advantage in hockey because its their game now.
The NCAA style game allows for more players to “compete” because it is a less tough and less nuanced and sophisticated game than the traditional “Canadian Game”.
This dumbing down and wimping of the game makes it easier for the Corporate Hockey league that is the NHL to expand and have more teams and thus more revenue… the game be damned.
Gary Bettman was a disaster for Canadian culture and the Canadian game, but not as bad as those Canadians tasked with protecting Canadian culture and the “Candian game, they are much worse.
Hockey is an American game now and Canada is a Death Cult ruled over by the most corrupt people on Earth.
Yup. The corporate media complex has declared a retaliatory trade war, and mass boycott, back at Trump. They must think their six-figure salaries, during the forthcoming economic recession, will be safe. But that may not be the case.
A good summary.

Alright … now I’m in love with AI !!!
