a leaked report prepared by investigators in the provincial Ministry of Health found that large quantities of opioids distributed through the program to people with addictions are not being consumed by the intended recipients. Some of those pills end up in the hands of criminal gangs. Some are being trafficked in B.C., Canada and internationally.
Drugs are the cartels PRIMARY BUSINESS!!! You lib FOOLS didn’t actually believe the cartel would allow your government to interfere with their primary means of support, did you? Yeah, you lost your “war on drugs” for the same reason we lost our Ambassador in Benghazi … because we GAVE weapons to our enemies. And you GAVE drugs to the cartels. Idiots.
But it made you … feel good … to say “we’ve lost the war on drugs”. Yeah, you tend to LOSE wars when you ARM the other side.
Safe supply and safe injectiion sites are not necessarily bad ideas in principle, but there’s just too many problems in practice. Drugs attract corruption like poop attracts flies.

In the category of “Duh!”, something as foreseeable as the junkies trading their government drugs for better drugs at a disadvantaged rate is so obvious, it either didn’t occur to the people operating the program, or they didn’t care because they believed they were doing “good works”.
