  1. Robert … Durango, CO is actually one of the few places that interested me as a place to settle when I flee CA. Yeah … it’s in leftist CO … so that’s not in its favor, but it looks like a uniquely beautiful area … that’s actually been a Hollywood movie location for films such as Butch Cassidy. Southern CO/Northern NM … kinda mountainous desert. Not cheap either, so there’s that …

    1. My sense is that different parts of Colorado have very different political views – kind of like California once you get out of the large urban centers. Durango, CO and Park City, UT are high on my list of places to buy property one day.

    2. This place has been my backyard since I was born. I’ve been many places but I always come back.
Due to American mining entrepreneurs and the freedom our constitution gave them in the eighteen hundreds and explorers before them this is one of the most accessible high altitude places on earth.
But I implore you, DO NOT COME UNPREPARED AND CHECK YOUR BULLSHIT AT THE DOOR!
      Thank you for your time.

  2. A shit-ton of money is required to liive in Durango, as well as a good deal of patience to put up with Texans. They are thick as flies there in summer.

    1. You are correct, it’s become expensive.
It began being Californicated in the sixties and they imported all of the socialist government be all, end all, tax all, regulate all that destroyed CA ( The state and the country).

  3. I think they quit burning coal on the Durango-Silverton because sparks from the stack lit off a couple of fires in recent years.

  4. Can’t help but notice that the Laurentian Elite are popping the cork because “they got Trump to blink”. The reality is he expects a plan up and running in 30 days or the tariff go into effect.
I’d go on a 1000 word diatribe on why they still have their head up their backside but instead just say we are still on the road to becoming the 51st in everything but name.

If you wanted a new country, then just let them keep doing what they are doing.

  5. We go up to Durango every once in a while for a weekend. Took one of the granddaughters with us to ride the train and do a morning of zip-lining – she had a blast. A few years back we did the special “fall colors” photographers special excursion on the train – they pick several spots to stop and let photogs off, they back the train up and then you can get get some great pictures as it comes back towards you blowing off the steam etc.

In general it’s a great area to hang out. Lots of different things to do and see, not far from the 4-Corners, and the drive north on 550 through Ouray and Montrose is pretty scenic.

    1. “Zero delay from “send us your poor and homeless” to “don’t try and get into Canada illegally or we’ll shoot”. Wonder how that happened?”

Yeah, I just love the way that the closet Liberals here keep trying to convince us all that “Trump blinked”.

Uh-huh…sure he did. Let’s review, shall we?:

      1) Trump demands that Canada secure her borders and stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants into the United States. The US government website says this:
      ————————-

ADDRESSING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION: The extraordinary threat posed by illegal aliens and drugs, including deadly fentanyl, constitutes a national emergency under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Until the crisis is alleviated, President Donald J. Trump is implementing a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico

      —————————

(note how it says “UNTIL the crisis is alleviated”?)

      2) Canada promises to comply, then does *absolutely nothing* about the problem.

      3) Trump imposes the 25% tariff. Canada talks real tough and threatens counter-tariffs.

      4) Canada suddenly does a complete 180 and begins to implement the measures they had earlier promised.

      5) Trump grants a 30-day reprieve on the tariffs.

Okay, so WHO was it that ‘blinked’, exactly?

    2. Canadian banks seem to be notorious for laundering drug money in the US. Back in the 1980s the CBC exposed the Bank of Nova Scotia. It had a branch in Miami and one in Hamilton, Bermuda. Drug dealers deposited the cash in Hamilton then withdrew it in Miami. Scotiabank charged a fee for the service. Not too long ago, another Canadian Chartered Bank in the US was caught laundering. I doubt Trump is happy about that.

    1. Nancy Mace is awesome. We need more plain-spoken people like her in Congress.
      “tranny, tranny, tranny.”

  6. Notorious Vancouver escort charged with armed robbery in Ontario (with East Asian assistant)

Repeatedly having charges stayed including a manslaughter conviction probably means she is providing “services” to the judges in a quid pro quo for not going to jail as she should for a long long time.
