You are mistaken or only reactionary. When there was a bi-election in southern Manitoba, the election of a PPC candidate would not have strengthened the Liberal position and would have sent a message to PP to act as a conservative. But no, the voters can’t think that way.
I, for one, can only vote my conscience from now on and can’t vote for a faux conservative, who doesn’t really have a backbone, but only assembles one, when enough time has passed to make it safe.

The proper response to the tariffs would have been to shrug our shoulders and get on with a new strategy.
In no particular order:
1) Secure the border, stop importing criminals and terrorists and deport the ones that are here.
2) No retaliatory tariffs. Let the dollar fall and absorb some of the tariff costs.
3) Become efficient and self-sufficient. We have one of the lowest productivity rates in the G7. Clean out the govt bureaucrats and consultant class) get rid of harmful regulations, lower or get rid of sin taxes on effort (labour and capital investment).
4) Expand other markets and access to them. (Pipelines, LNG plants etc).
5) Cease all NGO funding and other money laundering schemes.
6) Start locking up the criminals with meaningful sentences who aren’t deportable.
Most importantly, this needs to be done immediately on a 2 year type of timescale, not decades. No more consulting with this group or that. Get it done ASAP!
