  1. If it is declared illegal, immediately appealed to SCOC, with a stay, SCOC will hear it in June or so. Too many Libranos on too much comfy judicial fur for this to actually matter.

Not a lawyer, just my opinion.

      1. Good work, YW, and thanks digging up that decision. But it’s certainly encouraging that the judge agreed with the plaintiff that this was an urgent matter to be decided expeditiously. It would likely be foolish to predict what the outcome will be. But the first all-important step of hearing this ASAP is encouraging.

  2. The Left in both our countries simply flaunt the Law. They ignore it and dare anyone to do anything about it. Then run out the clock and the pocketbooks on the challengers. Yes. It is grotesquely immoral.

  3. A positive sign. Very nice.

If nothing else, it will discomfit the mandarins and poobahs of the elite and make them hasty. Easier for them to put a foot wrong.

    Confusion to the enemy.

  4. In the end the matter is whether PM gave illegal advice to the Crown to prorouge, so why is the Crown paying for lawyers to argue that the PM did not give the Crown illegal advice? Why does the Crown care to defend its PM in such circumstance? Let the PM pay for his own lawyers, after all the Crown does pay him a salary to give it advice (legal and illegal).

  5. Sounds like a big steaming pile of poo. I thought the Governor General had to power to call and prorogue Parliament. How exactly do the courts over-rule the Governor-General doing her job? Are we sure this lawyer isn’t a moron? Asking for a friend.
“38 The Governor General shall from Time to Time, in the Queen’s Name, by Instrument under the Great Seal of Canada, summon and call together the House of Commons.”

  6. I wonder if Trudeau’s prorogue of Parliament has something to do with Kim Campbell’s tenure as Prime Minister (June to November). The longer he waits the more likely the next Liberal Prime Minister of Canada will be the shortest in history – a great revenge tactic on those who stabbed him in the back.

  7. Well it appears to me Trudy Prorogued to prevent the liberals from facing a confidence vote. Now they can select a new liberal leader and ensconce him into the PM chair sans any vote from the electorate. I am purdy sure the rules don’t exist so the Liberal Party can avoid an election and anoint a new Dear Leader. Protecting the liberal party is no reason to shut down our democracy.

  8. Heh,
So the Liberal Appartnics of the Court also have their marching orders.
Dear Leader now threatens the PARTY.
The decision to ignore Canada’s concerns as The Party chooses a new leader, also threatens the PARTY.

    So Dear Leader must go.
    Now.
Not in 4 or 5 months.
For even crusted on Liberal Voters know this current idiocy will not fly.
Universally seen a liars and thieves,Justine’s Government seeks to provoke a conflict with the USA,a trade war where they can pose as Defenders of Canada..
    Will it work?
The Presstitutes are at full bleat.
And of course,Dear Leader is again insulting Alberta for not committing fiscal suicide.
Old playbook stuff, but the eastern Can Ahh Duh Voters seems to lap it up.

    “Oh sweet lies,more please”

    1. I wouldn’t leap to conclusions here. A Harper appointed judge would be more inclined to frustrate than to pursue the Liberal agenda; on the other hand, there may be factions and interests that he knows about and I don’t, and this might be on its way to a section of the bench that’s prepared for it. There’s potential for fun and games, but I want to see it first.
