This would never work in Los Angeles. Where would they get the water? From the ocean?
Francisco- And lets not bring up Jasper while we’re at it.

Yellowstone lodge has had sprinklers on the roof for decades.
Looks like a lot of water but it’s way less than it takes to put the fire out once it’s really burning.
Sprinklers should be required in order to rebuild in some of these areas
Some people invested in products like this, but you still have to deal with HOAs who wouldn’t accept sprinklers such as that, and of course the government doesn’t want you to use water in that way (or at all).
If it saves just one fish…
One can install sprinklers on roofs but the water pressure would be so low they wouldn’t help if everyone was drawing water to fight fires assuming there was still power to pump water. One solution would be a cistern but some localities might not allow those.
And do you have ANY IDEA how clean, spotless and on-time the Japanese trains and Metro are? Yeah, they’re not a thug-hip-hop-rapper culture. They haven’t invited the bloody third world into their pristine country. And they don’t have money to waste on useless bureaucrats and posturing politicians.
Kenji, unfortunately Japan has acquiesced to demands from western ‘progressives’ to allow some in. Last year one of them sexually assaulted a young Japanese girl. He was apprehended and taken into custody, whereupon unlike in the ‘progressive west’ where he would have his every need taken care of, he was given a ‘bloody good hiding’ by the police. Fortunately they video’d it and put it out on social media as a warning to others. If only our ‘leaders’ in the UK did the same thing………..
They also don’t have a green theocracy that would rather tear down dams than build them and then let the downstream rivers silt up as the built up silt in the former reservoirs rapidly erode, destroying spawning habitat – all for the fish. The loons and lawyers of the NGOs are essentially the governing class responsible.
When you have politicians who are so stupid, they think Guam may tip over……………
In Japan failure is a humiliation that nobody wants to endure. In the west, it means you’re meant for leadership.
Great point, sir.
Hard to beat the Jasper boondoggle of mis-matched threads of hydrants and hose couplings. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. A veritable triumph of the best technocracy that other peoples’ money can buy.
Plus it has the added benefit of watering the lawn at the same time!
