  1. They will probably push another telegenic empty headed haircut. Adam Vandewhatever would be my guess.

  2. A Muslim, Trans, Vegan, Climate Change and Social Justice Warrior. Did I leave anything out?

As latest polls have the PC’s at 228 seats vs. 44 for Labor and 29 for the NDP I suppose it doesn’t really matter

Prediction: Donald Trump will call Pierre Poilievre by his rightful title: Prime Minister and tell everyone Canada has elected a great leader now that Canada’s version of
Xi Jinping/Obama/Kamala Harris is gone and moved to Cuba.

  3. Carney. And he will be much tougher to beat than Trudeau. Libs 20 %,Ndp 19% Block 6%, cpc 44%.That leaves approximately 20% in the wind. You can bet the farm the media is going to throw everything they got against Pierre and there is a lot of people uncomfortable with Pierre. Don’t count your chickens. Unfortunately, this is far from over.

    1. Carney carries the Trudeau stink, and who wants a CEO who has been exporting jobs from Canada as the next PM?

    1. I suspect Marxist academia votes NDP provincially and Liberal federally as they can count on the LPC to implement their version of NDP legislation.

  4. Freeland is Trudeau-tainted for everything but the mindless chromosome vote. Carney will be media-pimped as a brilliant economist and enlightened environmentalist. He’s the most dangerous. One can only hope that Carney will be the LPC’s Kim Campbell. “None of the above” and “Trudeau” are the polling results of conservatives.

    1. As a PM candidate, Freeland would effectively become the Kamala Harris of Canada: Number Two in the government attempting to somehow convince Canadians that she’s a voice for change.

      1. Garden Gnome Smelly Crotch Barbie? She will definitely separate the intelligent from the educated.

    2. John, I agree, but there’s a serious problem for both Carney and Freebase. Both of them are very bad communicators. In the case of Freebase, that’s at least part of the reason Canadians dislike her so much.

Carney? He’s a lead-footed stumblebum when it comes to dealing with a media scrum. Can’t think well on his feet. Not very articulate. Can’t pretend to be just like the rest of us folks. And everyone hates bankers.

      1. Trudeau being horrible in front of crowd didn’t stop him from being a paid speaker or the PM.
Liberals will vote for form over function every time.
If Carney had a good mop of hair and a minority wife, with a couple of trans mixed race babies, he’d be a shoe in.

  5. Let’s see
The house returns in less than three months when the government will need to pass a throne speech (confidence vote) and the party under its current rules needs minimum of four months to choose a leader.
Not soon after that confidence vote the government will be tabling its budget (also a confidence vote).

There are many employed in considering such scenarios that have come to the same conclusion.
I presume the liberal establishment has come to the same conclusion and have already decided who the successor is and now just need to justify the abbreviated contest so they can be installed before parliament resumes.
Imagine that whoever it is will be a sitting MP.
If it isn’t expect the writ to drop on March 25

  6. Oh, man, I’m so hoping that it’s Freeland. That would be a gift from the gods.

    Go Chyrstia! Let’s do this!

  7. I’d like to revert back to Roman rule and nominate a Triumvirate. Curly, Larry, and Moe might be better at leading this country than anything that is otherwise on the horizon. There is no one it the Liberal party worth voting for, Singh has shown his colours, more interested in getting a pension than concerned about what the Liberals did to the country, and as for Pierre well I don’t see anything on the Conservative platform about what it will take to stop the ship from sinking. So if we’re all going down then with the Triumvirate mentioned above we’ll all be somewhat entertained.

    1. Then you’re not paying attention. End of carbon tax and end of sales tax on new home construction are two huge improvements.

      1. Vote to be whipped, or vote to have a break from being whipped, but no chance of voting to be untied from the whipping pole.
Democracy is clearly an utter failure.

      2. Ending the sales tax on homes is a terrible idea. More demand-side non-solutions for a supply-side problem that will blow up the federal budget deficit. The carbon tax isn’t really that bad.

  8. It would be interesting to know how much is being paid out in MP pensions at present, to those sitting wherever, and smiling after a mere 6+ years of ”service”.

  9. The lib/dip consortium will rise in the polls and probably win the next election.
As a conservative I am sorry to say that PP will not do it. He is a liar and like Shit Head before him he will do nothing.
Do you think it really matters who the lib’s or the Dip;s have as leader??

  10. The Liberals know they’re f*ucked beyond redemption. Their next leader will be some tool who will be happy for whatever appointment that follows the absolute shit kicking they’re going to get this coming election. So much damage was done…we will see to what length once PP opens the books…they’ll be in the wilderness for the next two elections.

    1. And being the gaggle of cognitively impaired LARPs that they are they’ll wander aimlessly in the political desert for forty years because not one of them will stop & ask for directions

  11. Who will lead the Liberal Party?

Couldn’t care less. IMHO, best would be if they would all be thrown off a cliff like lemmings in a bus driven by Thelma&Louise.

But Yeah, since we-Canadians are so gullible, we will watch+discuss this Librano$ “look, squirrel!” soap-opera for next 3 months.

    1. Christy Clark.
      Please, please, please……
The fun to see her destroyed in an election. She’s responsible for the end of the provincial BC Liberals, why not a hand in the Federal party too?

  12. If Carney is selected the election will need to happen in March because he’s not even an MP. How the heck do you have little potato as PM and someone else as party leader?

    1. Apparently was done when MacKenzie King stepped down as leader and was succeded bbySt Laurent. King stayed on as PM for some weeks so could become longest-zerving PM.

    2. “If Carney is selected the election will need to happen in March because he’s not even an MP.”

I still say he’s too smart to even try…

      (but I’ve been wrong before)

  13. BTW, the Freeland stunt was 100% staged. Power Corp needed her to be shown as stepping up against (or victimized by) Le Dauphin so that they could install her as head of their wholly owned subsidiary

    1. He letter’s target wasn’t Trudeau, it was Carney, and she’s playing Paul Martin in this poorly thought out remake of the early 2ks
