  1. I am inclined to believe that people tend to vote based on what their pocketbook is telling them.

Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?

There are, of course, other factors, but I doubt mis/disinformation plays a big part.

    1. Facts matter, steve h. And no fact matters more to most than one’s ability to pay their bills every month. The whole field of “misinformation/disinformation research” was partisan funded. Color me unsurprised that its researchers took one side in determining what fact based content required suppression and deletion, which also happened to be the side opposite the one paying their bills. When I was a kid our teachers encouraged the development of Personal Opinions based on weighing facts and arguments while discouraging acceptance of other viewpoints without challenge. That made sense as creating personal opinions every day is what pretty much everyone does anyways as a matter of human nature. It seems that the misinformation/disinformation research effort was nothing more than an attempt to subvert people from having personal opinions. And like other lies from the Progressives/Communists for use in societal control that willfully ignore biological facts, has no chance of ever becoming “bi-partisan”. Open public square debate is the antidote to this poison. Personal Opinions are the bedrock of fair democracy.

      1. All of the funding and propaganda comes from the tentacles of the “Open Society Foundation” which is neither committed to openness or society

  2. I like the Democrat view that tiny Russian sponsored websites that nobody knew existed caused everyone to vote for Trump. Lunatics one and all.

  3. When your only electable alternative to the lunatic nihilist authoritarian world of the Democrats is a loose cannon populist who can actually define a woman, there isn’t much of a choice.

  4. The only disinformation was from the Left in response to the threat to their own power.

The only people tricked were those who listened to the perpetrators of that narrative in the mainstream news media.

  5. ‘ It culminated in the ejection of Donald Trump from a number of social media platforms following the Jan. 6, 2021 attempted insurrection.:

The phrase ‘Jan. 6, 2021 attempted insurrection’ is pelosinformation.

    1. “The phrase ‘Jan. 6, 2021 attempted insurrection’ is pelosinformation.”

I’m pretty sure that if there were a book called Insurrections For Dummies, rule number #1 would be something like ‘Don’t Forget to Bring Your Guns’.

  6. Whoa, a long article written by arrogant dumbsticks for arrogant dumbsticks.

I don’t care if these authoritarians want to run in circles sniffing each other’s farts in delight.

But we pay all these academics, NGO and charity activists, journalists, et al. We must stop.

  7. Nobody puts out more mis and dis information than governments and their gravy-slurping media dogs.
The verbatim headlines across a wide spectrum of platforms during the Wuhan Flu proved it beyond a doubt.
Trust nobody and nothing, but especially and constantly the government.

  8. I blame Musk for the end of the disinformation boom. He (largely) offset the rhetoric of the left with (you can even call it) rhetoric of the right. I think a lot of people saw what was going on and started ignoring the so-called “news”. I’m looking forward to 4 years of clean-up.

  9. I think that the last 4 years in the United States and the last 9 years in Canada have been a necessary evil. I think both countries needed a taste of the extreme damage which the left can inflict in a very short period of time. Most people have awakened and smelled the coffee, but as usual, there is still a significant percentage of people (mostly academics and people in the news) who are insulated from the realities of everyday economics because of their extremely well-paying jobs and so still believe in the myth of “The Budget Will Balance Itself”. I think that the next 4-10 years are going to be very tough economically, until both countries’ massive national debts are cleaned up.

    1. I firmly believe not everyone should be allowed to vote. In particular, conflict of interest cases (i.e. government ‘workers’). Also, no inmates, ‘not in country’, mentally ill (I know, that would eliminate lots!), etc.

      1. The enlisted should still get a vote, even if they are overseas, just on the basis that they’ll feel the most pain for the elected officials “wagging the dog” or “Bush’s folly”.

  10. Isn’t it interesting that the article does not introduce the very facts about the mass media cartel.
They willfully lied and published false information about Trump and the Russians, the H. Biden’s laptop and whole series of lies to cover the original lies.
In fact, the so called social platform commentators were telling the truth as opposed to the media cartel.
Of course, as it is the ‘social media’ includes a lot of lunatics that write about their fantasies, aberrations, proclivities and other such behaviors.
It does not however mean that there were posts about the truth that were taken down and were not allowed to be posted because it did not agree with the mass media cartel and the ideology of the ‘social media’ oligarchs.

It is interesting to note how the behavior of the TDS apparatchiks, the mighty politicos, the media cartel in all their endeavor are, since his being elected for the president, coming over and eating off his hand.
Viz the idiot that runs this country.
Though the socialist international is working and formulating their spiel to blanket the media with more radical lies, disinformation, misinformation, omissions and all the other stuff that the antihuman socialist extremists can muster.
