1. Germany is failing because it was too successful. The population worked hard to rebuild their country after the war. They worked hard to regain their standard of living and industrial potential. For four generations, they strived to be amongst the best. The young men and women now coming into dominance in their society have never known want or hard times. They assume that their prosperity is the norm, and they want to sit back and enjoy it. They don’t want to work, they want to play.

   It’s the same for every wealthy, powerful, and successful nation.
