Dances With Apartheid

It’s pretty surprising that the Quebec government displayed any outrage at an event that attempted to treat people differently based on ethnicity.

A Montreal community centre has cancelled its plans for a “family-friendly” dance party after it was pilloried for stratifying admission pricing based on race.

The Shake La Cabane FAM-JAM – to be held Sunday, Dec. 8, at La Cabane community centre – advertised $25.83 general admission, but only $15.18 if the attendee was “Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour.”

The centre also set a different price by which white children were granted free entry. White children under two were free, but for Black and Indigenous children the cut-off was 12 years.

  1. Section 15(2) would allow them to go forward.

But instead of removing the racist component and normalizing the cost, they instead cancelled it, affecting everyone.

  2. That’s hilarious, in a #Libranos sort of way.

Fair play in tier 2 Canada though, no different from me charging people more for plumbing or gas fitting if I have an indication that they work for gov’t or any of government’s “crown corporations”
An additional service fee, just wiggle in there and no need to say why, people are shocked enough and I don’t need to push them over the edge.

  3. Note that the Apartheid is pushed by non-whites rather than whites… Make of that what you will…
My white a$$ is cool with discriminating on basis of race if they are.

  4. Officialdom in Quebec still discriminates against English speakers.

Hypocrite is too small a word for radical leftist officials in Quebec.

They are just as racist as all the rest of the liberal communists.

  5. Why don’t the Shake La Cabane FAM JAM organizers try this –
25.83$ for the French speakers and
$15.18 for the English speaking attendees
    Should work!

  6. I want Canada to start construction immediately in the National Capital Region of The Official Pantheon of Victims. The squabbling over the placement of various Victims would provide great entertainment.

  7. WEXIT! Someone here suggested Red Deer as the new capital of Western Canada. That will do. And secure the borders well. Unfortunately, you have to accept B.C. to have shipping access, but the governments at all levels can be downsized and unions cancelled. Anyone without bona fide Western Canadian full citizenship is deported with no review by a ridiculous tribunal.

    1. Take just the northern section of British Columbia – the population there has much in common with Alberta. Then you would have the port of Prince Rupert.
I am 72 and I often wonder what Canada and the United States will be like in 10 years. I wonder if Alberta and Saskatchewan will finally join the United States (Manitoba is too far gone even though the province is rich in natural resources, there are just too many grifters in its population!), will BC finally join Washington State. I think we are in a period of transformation and it will only be understood when we look back.

      1. I am much older and doubt I will be around to look back. I sure would like to see someone taking the necessary actions to rid the country of these rapacious liberal/ndp communists, like right now, next election, but I doubt canadians are smart enough.

      2. I expect no substantial change until I die. But then I expect the world to say, “Thank God the old bugger’s dead, we were only doing this to annoy him”, and there will an explosion of reform and progress.
