    1. Can’t believe its not butter! They probably don’t know where butter comes from, just like meat they think the supermarkets make it in the back.

  1. Public Relations to MPs:

To make it relatable to the “common” folk, use words like “bucks”.

Despite making more than 289K a year, which is 388% higher than the average Canadian, acknowledge your “fellow” Canadians by using words like “angry”.

Most importantly, appear to make their plight your own by incorporating the word “us”.

  2. Some adults in sanctuary city Montreal – a true shithole today – actually voted for her 3 times.
Who’s stupider now? Her? No way.
    85% Canadians are low IQ

    1. 1 lb Good & Gather salted butter at Target is $4.29 (5.97 CAD)

And that’s the only place I’ve checked. You can bet your bippy there are other retail chains that have sale prices that are much better than that.

But the real point here is the stupidity of a federal government minister to raise the issue of the high price of a commodity that is entirely due to a form of price fixing … by her own government.

      1. Butter in our area has been selling at a discount on a rotating bases. A standard package sells for 4.79 when an advertised special.

  3. JFC. It is LITERALLY HER DEPARTMENT that runs the dairy supply management import permitting machinery. She’s been in that job for years. Is she mentally retarded or something?

    1. Is she mentally retarded or something?

Let’s just consider that a rhetorical question, shall we?

      1. It’s truly hard to believe that this moron is Minister of Foreign Affairs and an elected MP. With this dismal display it’s obvious that Joly is too stupid to give lap-dances.

  4. I think I remember reading somewhere that the dairy farm process invoked by the Canadian government sets quotas on the dairy farmer so as to maximize their profit while trying to balance that with attempting to make sure the supply matches the consumer’s needs. Higher prices (significantly higher than the US) are the result of not being able to tell the future (or what the demand of the public is at any given time).

As a result, something like 6 Billion liters or milk have been dumped by dairy farmers over the last decade. In other words, walking away from pure capitalism where supply v. demand sets the prices without government intervention (aka false capitalism). Does that sound about right?

    1. Exactly right. The Nirvana of a centrally planned economy, where everyone eats a lot of potatoes.

  5. My comment got lost in moderation – take 2.

Did the dozens of people at out national broadcaster involved in shooting, editing and broadcasting this bit not know the facts?

Surely they did not sandbag the Minister. They know which side their bread is buttered on!

    See what I did there?

    1. I can see your difficulty. What it shows is that the national broadcaster’s producer and the Minister really are this stupid.

(Good one-liner about buttered buns. Maybe taking a stiffie in buns well buttered is the only thing they can do.)

  6. Unfortunately there is not a politician in Canada that has said they will end marketing boards and supply management.
Butter here in the Okanagan is about $5.50 a pound but we can often find specials for about $4.50 a pound at different stores.

I call on our Beloved Prime Minister to raise the equalization payments to Quebec so those unfortunate souls don’t have to pay $9 a pound. Maybe they overpay for poultry and other dairy products as well. The solution is obvious; send ’em more money.
Question to all heterosexual males here: you’re stuck on a remote island for five years , who would you rather have as your island mate, Pierre Polievre or Melanie Joly?

    1. For the country’s sake I choose her to be marooned rather than Pollievre, even if I have to be with her for five years.

  7. Hey Honeybabe, you are not one of us!
You and your accomplices are RESPONSIBLE for those prices!!
