Electric vehicles are much less likely to catch fire than ICE vehicles. Not that I want to buy something with such limited range at this point, but I do have an eScooter and it has been a real pleasure to buzz around town on in the summer. PEVs are great for saving on vehicle expenses in good weather for short trips.
But, but, but … ICE vehicles catch fire too!! Ohhhhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaaaaa … I love my e-scooter. EV Puhleeze …

Not even close, sorry. Ask New York city about that.
But when an ICE vehicle catches fire you just get your fire extinguisher out of the trunk and put it out. It’s not a self fueling inferno that cant be put out like the EV fires. Nor does it explode like you see on TV but the EVs actually do explode and shoot projectiles (battery cells) out. This has all been documented on CCTV cameras around the world as well as dash cams. Diesel is very hard to catch on fire, in fact you have to heat it up and compress it to get it to burn so for fire safety we should all be driving Diesels.

Yes, that too. Someone apparently developed a special rig to use on EV fires that slides under the vehicle and punctures the battery to inject water (or something?) into it…but no one wanted to get close enough to actually use it.
I’m surprised they printed the comment of a 61 year old shopper, “maybe not so environmentally friendly after all.”
How often would the news report the AGE of a shopper? Only when they show disdain for the narrative. Then, they have to be categorized as ollllllld … and gonna die soon … and don’t care about “the environment” … yadda yadda yadda

Yeah, they *wish* those batteries were environmentally friendly….especially the mining of the lithium (and other elements) to make them.
