Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

He nailed it … with 10-inch spikes.
The boomers have spent the wealth of many generations at once:
1) Their inheritance from their parents,
2) Their’s
3) Gen X’s
4) Their Kids
5) Gen’X kids
6) Their Grand kids
and it will likely continue for a few more at least
What did they achieve with it? As they slowly die off in dirty hospitals, or quickly in a MAID booth, their country around them reeks of corruption, decay, and death. Most can’t even smell it though, their head being so far up their azz. Infrastructure crumbling, education focused on teaching the language of freaks, national pride redefined to mean those who are the biggest victim -that is the fruit of their labour.
And no, it is not all boomers, just as not all Gen Z are useless twits. However, if you feel the need to say, hey – I worked hard, I deserve it, etc etc, then I assure you, that yes – you are one of the bad boomers.
Exactly, boomers received so much more than any before, and left less than any other.
You can thank the governments they elected for that.
Allowing communists to infiltrate all levels of the education system will be the country’s downfall. Get your kids out of the public schools before they report you to your local kommisar and you end up in the DC gulag system.
Welcome to the 20th century.
Canada started down this route at a slow walk in 1963 when it elected the first communist government masquerading as liberal.
Yes indeed.
I’m from late in the post WWII baby boom, (1963) so I grew up in the rot which Hanson describes. In the aggregate, we haven’t been gardeners. We didn’t plant enough good seeds and we didn’t do enough weeding. It’s a mess which is at least as likely to become an abandoned waste ground for generations or be ploughed under as to be revived or restored.
The weeding is the part where we fell short. We also didn’t appreciate the destructiveness of mass media, with its ability to interpose itself between parent and child as a transmitter of values.
After supper TV is almost all commercials for some pharmaceutical for any disease or malady real or imagined.
well l grew up right in the middle of the boomers but dont f’ing blame me for the mess.
lm only #6 of 7 kids to a working class grunt with grade 4 education who sired 5 post secondary degrees, a lawyer, 2 teachers, all of us independent business operators etc.
WE pulled ourselves up out of poverty in the form of an uninsulated unheated wood frame house where papa got up at 4 stoked the wood burning kitchen stove so ma could make breakfast for the brood whilst l sought refuge from the cold under a blanket.
then we moved into the city 1956 oh look a furnace. etc.
Not all Boomers were created equal. You and I had similar origins (although, you certainly win the horror upbringing sweepstakes). But it ABSOLUTELY IS/WAS our Boomer generation who have succeeded in … “tearing it all down, ma’aaan”. The generation preceding us were BUILDERS … we are the DESTROYERS. It’s a shameful legacy to have created iPhones and world changing technology … only to LOSE: Law, Justice, Security, Merit, colorblind race, Integrity, Fiscal responsibility, borders, language, and culture.
Government Kenji, government, that was the biggest mistake they made.
Hanson is laying all that rot on the Boomers. The rot has been in the west far before their / our? dominance. The Marxists, Fabians and Progressives go back a century and a half. The “greatest generation” (my parent’s “generation”) gave us Pierre Trudeau, the worst PM in Canadian History along with his spawn. The founders of the US described the threats to the republic two and a half centuries ago. The universities were crawling with leftists and green nihilists 55 years ago (when I started) when the professoriate was much older than the oldest boomer who would have been 23. It is ideas that destroy civilizations not age groups.
precisely. how many boomers were age correct to vote? oddly enough thanks to TURDeau 1.0 l voted at least
1 election earlier than under the CONserrrrrvatists of diefenbaker the most indecisive pm EVER.
boomers just happened to be around when the big change happened.
dont confooose the ’cause and effect’ here
It takes many generations to build up a society and only one to tear it down.
Huh….I was born in 52 & emigrated from Netherlands to Canada at 4-1/2 ….must be all MY fault… sure Victor.
Father was survivor of 4 yrs in Buchenwald…I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a LIBERAL bone in his body, nor mine for that matter… Mom spent winter of 44 on a Farm somewhere, ..eating god knows what as my grandfather had no food to give.
We came here with literally NOTHING & Were Provided with NOTHING…yet we (2 younger sisters n I), all turned out to be fairly decent hard working folk.
Such were My parents. RIP.
Lots of that rubbed off over the yrs on all 3 of us.
The planet needs an EMP.
Sadly Steakman, as I have said it is the givernments that Canadians elected. The want something for nothing crowd has been in control just about all my life. We are now descending the communist rabbit hole and not enough people seem to give a damn. Canadians are far from free, in fact most have no idea just what individual freedom even means.
I realize my mis spelling in the first sentence but then I thought, no I won’t change it because that is what they have become.
No one gets out alive but leaving a free and prosperous country for the next generation is not that difficult if morality and honesty are the foundation on which you build, Canadians no longer embrace those values.
Bezmenov tried to warn us.
One of his core points was that once a society has been demoralized there is no way for it to recover because there is no one left from the uncorrupted generation to re-teach its values.
bingo. and proven by history dozens times
If you’re a boomer who stayed quiet, you’re the cause.
I like your sentiments, but I believe you are wrong. We live in a society that was designed to be peaceful. The boomer’s parents taught them to trust the system and just elect a better government next time. Also, to trust that the educators had our best in mind. Booth propositions were wrong. As someone pointed out above, this mess started much earlier. I’d say around 1910. No amount of “voting the right way” was going to fix this mess. Besides, none of us ever voted for a bloated bureaucracy, except maybe some Dippers.
And, no, I didn’t keep quiet. I was vocal and still am, but the educational system and the media did a great job of making most people compliant and accepting of what they were told.
Yeah right blame..for scapegoat.
Is this a generational thang?
Or the natural cycles of human society?
We made society soft and protective, seeking to rise above the hard times our parents lived..
And Soft living produces lazy stupid people.
So yes we “boomers” are responsible..For being mostly hard working and productive.
We made life so easy for our offspring that they have been able to be complete imbeciles and still survive.
That “famine” is still going to come.
Right, let’s keep pointing generational fingers at each other while the global elites laugh at our ongoing divisiveness and guilt.
Many of those Global Elites are late Boomers.
I’m a bit younger than most here. Kinda surprised at all the self loathing boomers.
Your generation might have started the downfall of the free world, but my generation and younger are the ones stomping it into the mud.
We don’t blame you for hoarding wealth. We’re just waiting for you to die.
Boomers have been voting since the 60’s. They became the primary voting demographic in the 70’s, and have continued as such for nearly 50 years. Now they’re aging out.
U.S. National Debt has been soaring since shortly after the Boomers came into prime voting age and political age. This happened around the mid-70’s.
Joe Biden is a good example. He became a Senator in 1973 at age 31. He’s been in the Federal Government for almost 50 years, except the four years of the Trump Presidency. Now he clings to power like a drowning man clinging to a life jacket.

All you whingeing gen xers can f**k off and die; especially you froggie. Joke Biden isn’t a Boomer. Neither was Trudeau the elder. We have had one Boomer PM in Canada and that was Harper. Harper wasn’t perfect but he was head and shoulders above the liberal pms we’ve had. Present PM is a gen x. and he has done more to destroy Canada than his step father. Like others have suggested the slide began before the Boomers were even a gleam in their old mans eye. You could check it out but I imagine you’d rather whinge. BTW Donald Trump is a Boomer.
