  2. I say whites, especially the British Empire, should apologize for ending slavery as a human condition.

    Canada was never involved in the transatlantic slave trade. The trade was abolished in the British colonies in 1807, 60 years before confederation. And after 1850, there was no transatlantic slave trade to speak of anway.

    1. The governor of Upper Canada (later Ontario), John Graves Simcoe, largely eliminated slavery in 1793. He would have eliminated it entirely except he had resistance from the Legislative Assembly so it was a bit of a compromise.

  4. Canada wasn’t a nation during slavery, we were under British rule. If the left are going to rewrite history could they sprinkle some facts into their propaganda?

  6. How many native tribes, including but not limited to the mohawk, and haida had slaves? How many of them were sacrificed at potlatches to prove how rich the chiefs were?

  8. As the saying goes, the demand for racism exceeds the supply. Canada is importing this racial neurosis from the US to show that we can self-flagellate better than them, because of our irritating national inferiority complex.
