  1. This was inevitable, since ICE owners cannot be expected to foot the bill for all road maintenance. This should temper the gloating on the part of EV owners.

  2. California doesn’t win the prize on this one. New Jersey was working on this well before them.

  3. It couldn’t happen to a better bunch of virtue signalers than EV drivers. Fkcu-em

    1. Unfortunately, they are not charging solely by miles driven. Or wear and tear on roads. They will be using estimated MPG equivalents for EVs. Meaning a tesla with a BS rating of 132mpg will pay pennies. Owners of internal combustion engines will continue to subsidize ev owners, until we are weaned off the evil juice entirely.

      1. Also, is this mileage tax a replacement for the gas tax, or in addition to it?

I can’t believe california would do anything to make gasoline cheaper. You’d have drivers from Oregon coming south to fill up.

    1. Democrats will soon allow blacks to drive without a driver’s licence.

According in Democrats they’re not smart enough to be able to get ID.

  4. What difference at this point does it make?

Most of the gas tax money goes to prop up mass transit which has been universally abandoned by the general public ever since the COVID-mongers told us that breathing the same air as an asymptomatic COVID carrier would infect you in an instant … and that you’d DIEEEE!!!! Droplets. 6-feet distancing, the whole charade … so nobody rides the diseased transit with masses of the unclean anymore.

CA spends almost nothing on maintaining and expanding the freeways … the highways are an appalling mess throughout the State. Potholes, sinking asphalt, offset edges at every freeway overpass that shatter your rims. It’s close to third world driving. Yet we pay through the nose and every other orafice for this garbage.
