  1. Whether or not the NDP have been in power in Victoria, they have been running the healthcare system through their unions for the last 60 years or more.

  6. Last. somewhat. Conservative government left power in 1933. B.C. has been Social credit, NDP, Liberal ever since.

    1. The most conservative government in BC in the last 50 years was Bill Bennett’s premiership 1975-86 before the Socreds went goofy with Vander Zalm. He came to power after the province’s first dose of the NDP.

  7. The unionized public sector cleaners in B.C. hospitals are the highest paid cleaners in the province, and yet their work performance is abysmal. Taxpayers would have much cleaner hospitals, and at lower cost, if all cleaning services in government buildings were privatized.

The health authority might want to consult with their child protection colleagues as cockroaches in a home have been used as an indicator of unacceptable living conditions and have apprehended children living in such conditions. But I’m a dinosaur, so perceptions may have changed. Lizard bureaucrats may be acknowledging that cockroaches may outlive humans to eventually become rulers of the world.

    Wasn’t it just a week or so ago that the Health minister was advocating for the acceptance of ‘roaches’ (and other smokables) in and on BC hospital properties?

  12. Perhaps it’s different in BC, but cockroach infestations in restaurants here in Alberta have restaurants shut down. But the, given it’s the “left coast”, suspect they’re just the left-over “hors d’oeuvres” which wandered away from the prep table.
