  1. Cut way back on carbs and sugar, shorten your daily eating window to 6 hours, go for a walk as far from your last meal as possible so you’re burning fat not dinner and lose weight. Simple.

    1. I’ve been eating pretty much carnivore for the past 2.5 months, and the benefits have been substantial. Leaning out, adding muscle and sleeping much better. No more cravings for baking or other sugary things either. Veggies are way overrated if you are eating quality beef steaks, eggs, and A2 butter.

    2. Here here. I would add to get moving every hour or so throughout the day. Keep your muscles active. No pill yields the benefit that constant movement provides. That little movement reminder on your watch app is not a gimmick.

Big food addicts us to ultra processed crap and big pharma cashes in downstream. It’s a feature not a bug.

And our healthcare system abets the entire process by focussing on medication instead of prevention.

Unless this paradigm changes, society will go bankrupt on ballooning healthcare costs.

      1. All of you fellows have hit it dead centre in this thread. Exercise more, eat less sugar and starches, and less processed foods which are frequently loaded with corn starch. Compared to people of a century ago, as a population we are all extremely immobile and sedentary. Our work is far too often sitting down at a desk confronted by a computer screen or piles of paper. We watch too much television or computer entertainment.

We fail to tell our children, “Go outside and play.” It doesn’t have to be onerous, but just an hour’s walk a day will make a huge difference over a relatively short time of a couple of months. I started doing this after the onset of Covid, and for me it made a difference. And I hate the outdoors when it’s raining.

  2. My favourite part was learning that scientists are very excited about it; thrilled that FINALLY they’ve found the “holy grail”.
    Yeah, sure!

Related: Read yesterday that the leading cause of death in the US is legal prescription drugs.

  3. We need to go back to the 1,600’s where everyone was fighting over scraps to keep from starving. That outta do it! Just like our dystopian climate changers plan for us. Now STARVE … for the planet

      1. First World Problem?

Exactly so. We all need to put down that cookie and go out for a walk. Even just a short one done every day will be of great and noticeable benefit.

  4. Be very wary when a drug company creates a new legal entity for a drug when it is used in a new application – especially if it is to be prescribed at a higher dosage. This is not for marketing. It’s to sever liability, and it’s usually done when the drug company knows there will be liability issues. I learned this when I worked on the campaign for Centocor’s rebrand of Infliximab as Remicade. It turns out they knew that at the higher doses required for the new application, it turns your liver into cat food. By severing liability they were able to keep selling Infliximab even after this became known.
