National Post- B.C. tells nurses to ignore rising phenomenon of armed patients doing drugs in hospitals
But the memo also goes beyond drugs in telling hospital staff that patients are allowed to bring in knives and other weapons, so long as they’re “under 4 inches long.”
Hospital workers are also instructed to look the other way when encountering obvious signs of illicit drug dealing. “We do not restrict visitors if we suspect patients are bringing in substances,” it reads, adding, “we don’t restrict if they’re dropping off substances.”

it ALLLLLLLL comes under the category appeasement. infamously started when chamberlain waved a bloody piece of paper at the airport coming back from berlin
Knives under 4” is a pocket knife, doesn’t really reach the level of an effective weapon.
Dealing drugs is a separate issue.
.
I’m sure that will be cold comfort to the first nurse or orderly who gets all 4 inches jammed into them.
Fuuuukyuuuuuo Racist & Misogynist, that obviously depends if it’s a “black handled” knife whether it’s “4” or not, the colour OBVIOUSLY dictates its deadliness as any educated person knows! Hail Trudeau!!!!
You can take over an airplane with a 1 inch box cutter.
I’ll take “What is a Kirpan?” for $500 Alex!
“A bedpan used by veterinarians treating dogs is sometimes called a…”
Ah, our BC health scare system where ideology prevails over common sense. Things are messed up beyond reason, but don’t let that get in the way of the brain surgeon Adrian Dix.
Everything is under control…….including allowing multiple patients to be hallway residents for days.
Wouldn’t want to deprive those special status drug addicts of their next fix at everyone else’s expense.
The BCNU was very quick to cozy up to the NDP in their recent contract…..serves them right for trusting these malevolent NDP fools.
BC abbreviation – What does it mean?
“Becoming Chicago”
“Bolshevik Communism”
“Braindead Cretins”
Bring Crack
“Bungled Community”
The stupidity of the BC NDP is beyond belief. Another reason I’m glad I came back to Alberta.
It didn’t take long for the revolution to come for the BC nurses who coincidentally have spoke out in favour of many recent moves to accommodate lethal drug use.
Is it understood that that anyone with a gun must be a legal gun owner and allowed to carry in public? That’s what that must mean. Do loaded guns have to be under a certain caliber or is the magazine have to be less than a certain number or rounds?Or is the size restriction only applies to knives?
Whomever wrote the policy must have a drug addled brain
It is unlawful to load a rifle in an area where it is illegal to discharge it, therefore it must be unloaded, right?
As for the hospitals, I was visiting a freind at Peter Lougheed in Calgary, before covid, it was a free for all then. I hadn’t visited a hospital in a long time and I was surprised I wasn’t required to stop and check in at the nurses station, instead i could just walk to the persons room.
There were a myriad of people roaming the halls etc, something about being a public building and all.
The person I was visiting told me it was like a free for all, you could get anything you wanted, just wait for the roving drug dealers, alcohol and tobacco merchants, whatever you wanted, you could get, also people would come by and steal your things if you were sleeping or out of your room. I was flabbergasted!
Try lighting a tobacco cigarette in one of BC Health’s facilities and see how many cops are called to the scene.
Sure! Ignore all the drugs and weapons being brought into the hospital…
…but if someone dares to enter the premises without wearing a mask, oh dear!
Time to call the cops!!!
Just how screwed up is government and public policy these days, and have we hit rock-bottom yet?
Yep, everyone is nuts.
