“Why did you do this?”

The Tucker Carlson interview of Vladmir Putin.

30 minutes in, this is a fascinating watch.

59 minutes in, Canada gets a shout out!

1:21: Whoo boy, the undermining of the USD as the world’s reserve currency comes up and it’s brutal.

Pretty good interview, unless you still retained a faint hope that our Western leaders were Putin’s intellectual equal, then … whoo boy.

Update: The interview has nearly 45 million views on X in 4 hours.

  1. Tucker is asking tough questions.
The first 20 mins was a filibuster, as Tucker suggested. I love history, but difficult to follow.

    1. I thought the history was crucial to understanding the ethnic and cultural landscape and the first hour demonstrated Putin’s deep understanding. Tucker came of as shallow and a lightweight in the ring with a heavyweight. The second hour, Putin was less assured and more reflective. (He seems to have put on some weight and I thought from his face that he may be on a corticosteroid.)

Regardless, even for those of us who have watched other Putin videos and have heard his views on morailty, religion, and geopolitics, this was a very significant discussion and kudos to Tucker for making it happen.

For those interested, I reccomend seeking out other Putin videos. He is not what he is made out to be.

Something that was pointed out that was already known is that the popluation of Russia at 50 million is less than double that of Canada, At one time Canada was a major player. How far we have fallen!

      And… Compare our leaders.

  2. One can’t imagine either Blackie, or Mushbrain Biden, giving this kind of dissertation, in detail, over the history of their nations.
    Leadership here is thoroughly embarrassing.
Putin, is a coherent, intelligent and eloquent leader. Night and Day. Not exactly the Hitler caricature that has been alleged.

      1. Only article one of the charter of rights & freedom, the part where rights are subject to “reasonable limits”. Unlike his mom.

    1. I think Justin Trudeau would not be capable of speaking truthfully and at length if the topic was his own life let alone the history of Canada.

    2. Putin, is a coherent, intelligent and eloquent leader. Night and Day. Not exactly the Hitler caricature that has been alleged.

To be fair, a great many sensible people were positively impressed by Hitler before the war. He wasn’t always the crazy frothing grump starring in a million downfall parodies.

      1. If you don’t think Hitler was bad “ before the war”, you know nothing about Hitler. Before the war , Hitler murdered rivals, dissolved the elected parliament, made mass arrests of political opponents and caused anti- Jewish violence, and laid the groundwork for all his later atrocities.

        1. If Hitler had fallen over dead just after the Munich conference and just before Krystalnacht, it’s very likely that he’d be venerated in Germany today. He certainly did a lot of nasty shit but he also accomplished a lot, and at the time it seemed worth it. It was only in the later years that he became intolerable; although, by then, you had no choice.

  3. Putin was a KGB officer before the Soviet Union collapsed. He is no dummy. He is also a Russian Nationalist.

You don’t have to like him. I certainly do not like him. I think he is a thug, running a government composed of thugs and thieves. Ukraine is much the same, just on a smaller scale.

I think it is very important to listen to everyone involved.

      1. The beauty of the Canadian system is that it is subtle and well entrenched so the people don’t even realize we are ruled by a club as exclusive as the CCP or Putin’s Russia. (We’re a DEMOCRACY!)

In Putin and Xi we have the two most intelligent leaders on the planet, unfortunately they aren’t our friends, but then neither is the LPC.

Trudeau is getting more arrogant as he goes along though, and he let the facade slip a bit on the trucker’s convoy but thankfully the media has covered for him quite nicely.
Now, to bring in proportional representation as per his 2015 promise and keep Canada leftward forever.

Looking forward to the Carlson interview.

        1. I read it somewhere that, examining many of the systems or western democracies, the Canadian PM has more power than any of his counterparts in the UK or Australia or the US. You certainly saw it with the ttrucker protest, article 1 of the charter, or the order in council outlawing 1500 types of firearms.

    1. ya l have mixed feeling about him. not so much early on he hadnt acquired his wings yet but now we know his style.
well, pffft. its russia we could have got a helluvalot worse.

    2. Yup. There is also a coterie of ex-intel officers on the American side (Bush was CIA director) who run a pretty shady operation. I only caught the intro and first 5 minutes, I want to watch this uninterruped.

    3. The US government is no different – Trump is being pursued in courts across America by regime prosecutors. Gangsters. Delaware and Chicago style.

  4. Take away from the first 30 min.
We are a nation that includes what I say it includes.
I asked to be part of your club but you said no.
So I created my own club – that looks a lot like the Russian empire.

  5. Tucker keeps trying to get Putin to badmouth the Biden Regime. Nordstream, NATO, etc.

President Putin doesn’t want to answer directly. Putin wants to maintain his relationship with the United States.

    1. I noticed he was careful not to talk of Biden personall;y; would not reveal his provate conversation with him.

  6. Fascinating. I cannot wait for the media party’s pile on against Tucker. I have been on the fence, but this interview has convinced me to buy a Russian flag.

    1. Almost convinced me to buy Russian property …

Can I do that in Russia like Communist Chinese Nationals can do in America? Invest $500k in America and you can become a citizen? They’ve bought up 70% of Silicon Valley property. Any warm “banana belt” regions in Russia?

  7. Just finished the whol;e thing, live. Wow. What a tour de force.

Unfortunately, it will be wasted on the US political establishment, which has nailed its knickers to the mast of a sinking ship. Putin could not have be more clear than this, than he has been for many years,

Tucker asked tough questions but was overwhelmed, I think, by the knowledge and power of Putin.

    1. I don’t think the US establishment could spend the two hours + to watch and listen. They’re worse than their TikTok kids, oh look squirrel…

I would love to see a follow up Tucker Biden interview. I hope he opens with “Mr. President, could you please tell me the alphabet soup that the gays running our country use for themselves?” Then listen to Biden fumble over his 2i, er lmnop you know the thing Jack.

  8. lm 72.
l dont remember Eisenhower but l remember the election 1960. and november 63.
and pretty much retain an impression every president since.
never seen one this bad in front of a mic because he’s drawing a blank, not ‘touchy’ or complicated subject but stuff like where the f am l.

otoh Vlad lots of miles on him still. he’s got enough allies he can keep swatting the conspirators for the time being unless Uke war reallllly goes south like Afghanistan but it wont. the mujahedeen weren’t stealing from each other for one thing.

  9. I wish Tucker had asked two more things:
    1. the US labs in Ukraine
    2. Putin’s views on the globalist agenda of WEF, WHO etc

  10. People are so sick of globalism that they start to admire a thug and proven liar like Putin.

    1. Man running Russia vs Metrosexuals and Karens running the west.
Its easy to see what you are.

    2. I want to argue with you … but I can’t. However … you SHOULD add the LGBTQueer agenda to the WHO … as Transgendering or gaying-up your kids is just as repulsive as injecting you with $B’s of vaccine profits.

  11. Putin’s views on the globalist WEF are clear if you are looking. The WEF are the ones behind the curtain driving the west to prop up Ukraine, and the BRIC’s currency idea are an existental threat to them. Putin is giving them a giant middle finger, pretty clear to me.

    1. That is the worse part in this whole story. The US has not made many friends lately and has left many allies down. They have also weaponized the dollar more than ever so BRIC is starting to sound good to many large countries. This can lead to serious trouble.

    2. The globalists, led by such as Blackrock’s Larry Fink, et al, want to dismantle Russia and take its resources. They did this when the Soviet Union collapsed and continued until Putin put an end to the pillage.

  12. Sensitive subject that Poutine.
Some years ago he gave an address and in part of it he listed some of the west’s values. He was talking about the multiple genders, the transing of kids, parent #1 and #2, etc. He said that these are not values Russians want for their country. He was speaking calmly and not affecting false outrage like some cheap acting class politicians.
The funny part on all of this is that both Putin and Woke Liberals agree on this one. What Putin was listing as depraved values, Liberals are proud to display and it is dogma to them that those are desirable value that should be spread far and wide and sometimes at the point of a gun or ban or defunding. It was an interesting statement. Then I remembered the LGBTQ flag the Americans flew on the embassy in Kabul. Just a bit before the biggest rout of US forces and diplomacy since Vietnam. Gotta see that interview.

  13. One cannot help but notice a strong similarity between Trump Derangement Syndrome and Putin Derangement Syndrome.

  14. Did he mention how blowing up civilian homes or staging terrorist attacks would end globalism? Or if that’s better in some way?

I prefer not to choose sides when Evil A is fighting Evil B. Let them fight.

  15. Good interview I guess if you’re a normie that watches FOX News or CNN, didn’t realize that Tuckers audience was so ill informed, Tucker didn’t ask any tough questions, Putin did a good job answering.

    1. I learnt nothing new from the interview but the importance of it is that it occureed and seen widely by American audiences.

  16. The part about the brain being two sphere’s that make up one mind is genius and no Canadian politician in my life could have said something so thoughtful.

“Hey , off the record, do you still have Bob Kraft’s Superbowl ring?”

  17. I’m about 40% through it now. WOW!

Given that Putin wants to Denazify Ukraine (a good idea), could he extend that to demand that Nazi Fan Boy, Trudeau, must also resign?!? Asking for several million friends.

    1. He also wasn’t too keen on what Clinton and NATO did to the Balkans …
Neither am I … speaking of ethnically cleansing the region of white Christians

    2. Denazifying a country that is not nazi hardly seems like a good idea. It seems like a euphemism for “kill all the Ukrainians”. That’s what it would turn out to mean if we let him try it.

The big problem with the war right now is that both sides are committed to theoretical goals, which can have no real practical form other than mass genocidal murder. One day, perhaps, enough people will decide enough is enough, and decide to accept something other than the extermination of their enemies and all their families, and when that point is reached the war will settle quickly and cleanly. Getting to that point is going to be all the fun.

  18. I was surprised. Tucker was ill prepared. He came over in the first half as not serious, impatient and er.. bumptious.
(Interestingly Putin already had Carlson measured as a talk show host, and said as much.)
He recovers in the second half until Walter Mitty pops out and he asks for the release of the imprisoned reporter (and made it sound as if he was expecting to be the one to bring him home).
    We’re into 1 million dead here so….
Putin was ready, Carlson was not.

    1. This is a great observation. You’re right, I saw the same thing. The first 20 was great, Putin was on a roll and it was a thing of beauty – his knowledge of his land and his people runs circles around all other world leaders. Tuck should’ve let him roll uninterrupted.

Tuck recovered and asked thoughtful questions which lead to a good interview.

The hostage stuff at the end was annoying, and a poor play on Tuck’s behalf.

Putin doesn’t mess around. He knows who he’s dealing with on the world stage down to when he gets interviewed. Don’t necessarily agree with Putin’s style of governance, does appear “thuggish” and dictatorial, but he’s smart, thorough and professional which is lacking in today’s world leaders.

  19. I once read a book on the history of Russia. After reading it I came away knowing jack shit about that country because it’s that complex.
Some days I think we’re replaying the Crimean war again. Seriously, The eastern and Russian speaking half of Ukraine is theirs and always has been so let them have it.
While we’re at it…tell Victoria Nuland to keep her effing snout out of geo politics and stay in her lane because she’s way out of her league.
I’m sure that’ll piss off some people on this board.

  20. Predictably schweinie-lovers are orgasming because they were told what they wanted to hear and take that as a sign of intelligence. If you think wasting 300000+ of your own people on a war of conquest that only yielded meagre results is a sign of “a leader with a functioning IQ over 80”, you don’t even have 50 yourself.

  21. You must be delusional thinking anyone would be anything but interested in hearing what he had to say but one things for sure if he was speaking from the heart and what he said rings true
All the crooked capitalists and the societies they are fking over are in for very tough desperate times.
Desperate enough apathy isn’t going to produced a smile.
The Canadian spirit isn’t being passed down , but instead extinguished rather expertly .
Not thousand of miles away but right under your nose.

  22. I get to the end of the comments here and see that people are busy ignoring the history lesson that was given.

    1. Exactly. If that “surfer dude who posted above had actually listened to Putin, his remarks “If you think wasting 300000+ of your own people on a war of conquest that only yielded meagre results…..”
should have went like this “If you think wasting 300000+ of your own people on a war of liberation …..”
From Russia’s perspective, they are liberating the Russian speaking peoples that comprise the eastern part of Ukraine from oppression by the Kiev government who were trying to suppress through violence, their independence movement started in 1990.
In 2014 if you asked the majority in the Donbas, join Ukraine or Russia, they would have chose Russia if given the chance.

      1. . . . they are liberating the Russian speaking peoples that comprise the eastern part of Ukraine from oppression by the Kiev government who were trying to suppress through violence, their independence movement started in 1990.

Er, not really. Ukraine didn’t even declare independence until 1991. One of the first things it did was hold a referendum to see if the people backed this independence. Every region, including Crimea and the Donbas, voted for independence. 55% of ethnic Russians voted for an independent Ukraine.

The problems in the east arose later.

  23. For an unedited interview there sure were a lot of images edited in. The Russian to English audio overlay was obviously added after the event (by whom, we might wonder) and Carlson’s invisible translation technology (his reactions were to something the audience couldn’t hear) ended up making him look disconnected and somewhat bamboozled. Which seemed entirely appropriate.

  24. I find Vladimir Putin (and its not the first time I’ve listened to him), to be on the face of it, speaking honestly… Yea he was KGB, yea he may have been involved in certain “sanctions”…. Whatever. Show me some FBI, CIA, or other alphabet Police agency that’s squeaky clean..??

Rather have him at the helm of Canada than the current Pedophilic Islamic loving NAZI Phag currently occupying the PMO…in a freaking heartbeat.
