1. 62 is too young.

   1. I had to look up his age. He seemed a lot younger than 62. I would have guessed mid-40s—stomach Cancer.

   1. His recent live performance of it was very touching. He will be missed.

4. I was in Afghanistan in 2010 and in the middle of the summer fighting season, Toby Keith came out to entertain the troops. He didn’t have his band (I guess they didn’t want to risk it) so it was “only” him and his guitar. During his show, sure enough, we had a rocket attack. Mr. Keith was hustled off the stage to a bomb shelter and while I wasn’t in the same shelter, I’m sure he kept playing his guitar for the troops who were in there with him (we were usually in there from half an hour to sometimes two hours). I’ve always liked his songs–his desire to entertain the troops made me respect him.

6. I primarily listen to country music and I enjoyed Toby Keth’s lighthearted, unpretentious songs. His humorous songs were some of the best in the country music genre. Poking fun at himself and others in songs as well as his controversial (to some) opinions will be missed.

   1. They would focus on the least interesting thing about him. A$$holes.

      1. Apparently the quote is attributed to Clint Eastwood. When Toby asked him how does he keep going in his eighties (producing movies), Clint answered “I get up every morning, and don’t let the old man in”.

9. Stomach cancer. Was it a vaccine induced cancer? We know the jab introduction coincided with a huge spike in a variety of cancers. Coincidence or murder with malice aforethought by our governments and Big Pharma? Will we ever know?

    1. I think it was a homage to a scene in Roadhouse where the unruly bar patrons where harassing Jeff Healey and his band.

          1. Haha. I forgot about that movie. Blues is the only other music I enjoy besides country/bluegrass.

             I used to hangout at a blues bar in saskatoon, usually after going dancing at a country bar. The blues bar had a reputation of being rough but if anyone threatened the band, I suspect they would have had to deal with some pretty nasty bar regulars. Ironically, because of the bars reputation, it had very few fights and other nonsense that I saw at bars who catered to young people and university students.

    2. There used to be a lot of that kind of thing. Back in the seventies there was at least one rock and roll bar in downtown Toronto – I believe it was the old Fast Lane on Jarvis Street – that had the chickenwire around the stage, because they needed it – the crowd there would throw bottles. Even when they liked the band, just to keep them on their toes.

       There were said to be other bars like it in the suburbs. One of my old friends once played several seasons on the South African rural bar circuit in the 80’s, and describes the arrangement as universal there. As was the bottle-throwing that made it necessary. Things do seem to have mellowed in the last half century, today they’d have a SWAT team on you if you threw a bottle in a bar. It just ain’t the done thing anymore.

13. Last saw him at Country Thunder when it was still up at Prairie Winds. Sadly the younger ones in attendance showed how brainwashed they were to only like the far-left libtard performers. Despite his performance being the best of the weekend the Gen-Zers claimed he was the worst.
    Now that Country Thunder is at Fort Calgary it’s demise is complete; just another leftfest for commies.

    1. They only know the one or two songs that left media (but I digress) has condemned. The vast majority of his songs are just top notch country and not political at all. Unlike Toby Keith’s music, they have no problem with the rap genre since it’s so polite and all.
