Someone needs to point out to the “Green Sa..n of Montréal” that climate change has been happening ever since the earth produced an atmosphere, and has led to some catastrophic changes on the way. Canada could turn the lights out, close the door, and quietly leave; the earth would not notice. What would happen is that the Chinese would move in, open the door, turn the lights on, and proceeded to exploit our resources with minimal regard for pollution.

  2. I think they’re close to breaking. The Cons have just got to keep up the pressure. But they need to be more aggressive about it. People are fed up, and many know the truth, so why not say it? Pierre Poilievre would allay a lot of doubts if he would just speak out openly against the woke, racist, fascist garbage our elites spout and force upon us.

        P.P. is playing it exactly right. As a reasonably clean alternative to the Libranos, he needs to stay on the attack and not give them anything to retaliate against him with – and after all, they continue to give him lots and LOTS and LOTS of big, fat, juicy targets. You go, P.P.!

        1. It may feel like you’re watching the old New Jersey Devils winning a bunch of Stanley Cups by playing the trap but you’re right. Don’t give the Lib smear machine any ammunition. They’re obviously beginning to panic so give them as much rope as they will take but keep the strong rhetoric in check until an election is called. Then, pull out all the stops and don’t let up the attack until election day.

      Enough time for the backroom puppet masters to take anything Pierre says and formulate a counterstrike.
      The Strategy used against PM Harper was a scandal every two weeks from someone usually outside the caucus. Didn’t have to be true or meaningful, just as long as it generated headlines and created an aurora of suspicion among the voting public. And just when the reasonable explanations came out the next manufactured scandal took over the headlines. Take a look back at some of those gotcha moments and see the insignificance of them. ‘He put a communion wafer in his pocket wa wa wa.’ Not true but it had its effect.
      I want to hear Pierre erupt 30 days before an election, not 600. Until then the guerilla war is fine with me. At this point I just assume that anyone calling for a full court press NOW is a liberal instigator trying to get a reaction.

The Lib’s have driven industry out of Ontario wholesale with crippling taxes, monstrous energy costs and a smothering wave of regulations, they’ve crippled the oilpatch, and they’ve made fuel so expensive that we can’t afford to heat our houses, much less drive our cars.

      And the truly galling thing about it is, they’re PROUD of themselves and the job they’ve done!

  8. Canada has a couple million square KM of trees. We are carbon negative. We need to burn more hydrocarbons to meet our Paris objectives.

      l believe a mammoth world wide push to plant trees is a solution, def help. lots of tree species, do dna splicing to create very tough for near deserts turn them into lush land in 200 years.
      and as far as CO2 yes our massive forests BC N Ontario & PQ more than make up what we produce. far more.

It is my understanding that – back in the day – the first nations people realized that they needed forest fires to clear out the underbrush and – in some spaces – make more room for game animals. They obviously had to give serious consideration as to when and where to set a fire (suspect learned the hard way) but apparently they figured out which conditions were conducive to having the burn head in the direction they wanted and clear out the proper area.

A few weeks back there was an article in the news saying that Bill Gates was advocating cutting down a few thousand acres of trees and burying them so they would not emit any CO2 into the atmosphere as they decompose. According to the article he seemed to believe that that action would allegedly reduce the carbon in the atmosphere thereby reducing the greenhouse effect that will no doubt kill us all.
    Civilization is so fortunate to have all of these deep thinkers in our midst! Sarc = OFF

    Rather lame is it not? The tones the young woman uses are horrible. But it is still pretty orderly and the ‘far-right’ Speaker of the Parliament / Chair would penalize her for not being orderly.
