1. Interesting article. I’ve worked with dozens of these a$$holes in Silicon Valley. I also refer to them as Urban Bigots.

   In my experience, they more often turn out to be hypocrites. They are in favor of dramatically increasing the prices of all of the “bad” things, knowing that they will still be able to afford everything but the loathsome deplorables will not. More often than not, they conveniently ignore what their desired policies will do to their non-elite fellow citizens; thinking that these peasants need to be enlightened.

   These new elites are truly amongst the greatest hypocrites the world has ever seen

   1. I figure hypocrites fit into one of two categories: those who are bright enough to recognize their hypocrisy but don’t care (sociopaths); sheep who are not capable of serious introspection.

      It would be an interesting breakdown.

   2. They sound like carbon copies of John Kerry. Though, many of them may have “earned” or inherited their wealth instead of marrying into it.

      “Earned” had to be in quotes, because what they get overpaid to do may not be difficult or valued. Certainly not earned.

      I live in a wealthy area of Florida, where they once bragged of having the most millionares per capita of anywhere in the nation, (when a million dollars was a lot of money), and I work in their homes. Luckily, it is a traditionally conservative area and most not a holes though the demographics are changing even here.

3. Sad. The innocence of their youth has gone and has been replaced by cynicism and fear. Too bad for them as they are wasting away the best years of their lives by giving in to anxiety and depression.

4. Reading the survey results in the article, once again it comes through that Our moral and intellectual superiors, the Elites, expect everyone ELSE to give up heat, light, food, and personal transportation. No, no… of course not themselves.

   I call them “spitters”, because they are convinced that they are the SPITR (Smartest Person In The Room). So, obviously their opinion is always right and everyone else must respect their intellectual superiority and submit to their demands and commands.

   News Flash! Education does NOT equal intelligence. Nowadays, education equals indoctrination.

   Fer cryin’ out loud, we have people with 4-year degrees, PhDs even, who believe that men can get pregnant, that there are 57 genders, and police aren’t necessary if we’d only ‘be kind’. And they just know, are convinced they are the spitters? Ummm… no. Just the opposite in most cases.

   1. To be fair, they don’t actully believe it themselves, they expect you to repeat it, say it is true, to enforce their control over you.

         Some don’t actually believe their own BS and yes, they know. It’s a power thing.

         It’s clear that our colleges and universities have become indoctrination centers. And they are indoctrinating people to believe, just like the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, that a piece of paper makes them smart.

         I think Jamie’s observation, that the sheep aren’t capable of knowing they are sheep, is true in most cases. They are useful idiots who actually believe that they are smart enough to make socialism work this time. It doesn’t take close examination to see that the useful idiots don’t know they are idiots because… they are idiots!

         What I hope to see (but not really) is the sociopaths actually achieve their goals of total control. Then there will be a glorious knife fight at the top as they each try to be The One in control.

         BTW, if your Freeland is so smart, why isn’t she in the background pulling the strings instead of being a puppet having her strings pulled? Doesn’t she know that she’s the safety valve? If things go South for the GEBs, she will be the one to take the fall and the retribution, not the people in the shadows pulling her strings. She’s a spitter.

         Aaand a P.S. – This topic cannot be adequately covered by a few exchanges in a comment thread. And I certainly don’t have the chops of say, a Jordan Peterson to paint a complete picture and then really slice and dice the nuances. But we have pointed out a couple of the details we have picked out in the Big Picture. A few people might find something new and useful in the preceding exchanges.

   Such folks think they’re better, smarter, and wiser than all of you. Yet, quite the opposite is true.
