More: Supreme Court to hear a case that could erase 2020 Capitol riot charge against hundreds, including Trump
Updated with Jonathan Turley: Smith has had an ominous week that could severely complicate his plans for convicting Donald Trump before the election.

Threatening these judges by mainstream media has worked well in making these judges stand down when they’re families and loved ones can be tracked down so easily in today’s society.
Look at all these citizens locked up on a bogus riots that were the most peaceful that I have ever watched and witnessed. Tracked down by the FBI which is supposed to be non partisan but are not.
J6 was a setup.
The capital police treated the Rioters like they were tour groups.
Most of us have seen the tapes, and we know that they know that we know, it’s all BS.
As bad as 9/ 11 or the attack on Pearl Harbor?
Sheesh !
I have zero faith in traitor John Roberts, or any of the Trump appointees (actually McConnel appointees).
Supreme Court is compromised both willingly and under duress. Depends on the judge.
This is an open and shut case- but so was Obamacare – tax/not a tax – and we saw what the venal roberts did on that.
As this United States election gets closer…and President Trump is about to take office again…
More weird crap is happening such as ALL Republican House members want inquire about Joe Biden Impeachment. Apparently, his health really is getting dicey too.
In a brief order Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan largely granted Trump’s request to halt the proceedings while he pursues his appeal. Chutkan said Trump’s appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit means she must automatically stay further proceedings that would move the case toward trial.
Chutkan wrote that Trump’s move gives the higher court jurisdiction over the case. She noted that if the case is returned to her she will consider “whether to retain or continue the dates of any still-future deadlines and proceedings, including the trial scheduled for March 4.” The case would return to her if Trump’s immunity claim is ultimately rejected, allowing the prosecution to move forward.
Seems that taking ‘Teflon Don’ Trump to court ain’t working out so hot before the elections.
Here is the entirety of Kelly’s article. The threat these liberal judicial decisions, and associated liberal law-bending pose to the First Amendment is staggering.

“Indicted under a novel interpretation of the law.”
You gave us the Man , so we found the crime.
Lock him away, so he troubles us no more.
Look at the NY State Civil Trial. What did Orange Man Bad do?
Donald Trump was loaned Millions of dollars by Deutsche Bank. He paid it all back and paid it back on time. Letitia James has a novel legal theory that the poor innocent, naive little waifs at Deutche Bank were too unsophisticated to understand that the evil criminal mastermind was ripping Deutche Bank off because they didn’t charge him the same interest rate as Joe Blow, middle class citizen. Never mind DB was salivating over getting hundreds of millions of dollars in bank business from Donald Trump, his huge business empire, and hopefully his family, friends and business associates.
Just another novel legal theory. As usual, this theory has been thought up by a Democrat to be used against a Non-Democrat.
For those that are not familiar with banks and loans? Do you know how much it costs a bank to convince people to use your bank for loans and deposits? How much it costs a bank to service those many, many small checking and savings accounts; and millions of consumer loans. How many tellers, personal bankers, branch locations, ATMS, etc., etc., are required for 500,000 five hundred to ten Thousand dollar accounts? Thousands of people and millions of dollars per year.
Compare that to someone like Donald Trump and his Half BILLION Dollars in accounts. What does he require? He probably has five or six people personally assigned to his accounts and his business accounts, with an entire bank department supporting them. Those same five people probably have 10 or 12 other billion dollar customers they manage too.
Managing Trump costs them probably 1/10 per dollar of deposits and loans as the average small personal bank account costs a bank. Big customers are a huge profit center.
All here surely understand that
1. The process is the punishment.
2. Human law codes are only enforced when doing so further the two goals of “elites,” stealing money and removing threats to their wealth and power. They are otherwise disregarded.
If an Arab mob gangrapes your daughter, murders her and her unborn child, and outs the whole thing on TikTok, avenging your family’s blood is your problem.
The police will go through the motions of taking your statement and then go back to their real jobs—writing traffic tickets and harassing people peacefully assembling to criticize and condemn the corruption and incompetence of their rulers

I could not agree more…!
I find it strange that PBS would leave the part out that seems to be the crux of this case, (linked to above by “roaddog at 1.24am” in this thread) that the law from the Enron case is improperly being used in this case. What if the SCOTUS asks for the seemingly unavailable original copy of the tape showing who planted the bomb? The one slowed to … is it a frame per second like video in 1980 was?
So as to make it unusable to anyone?
But it’s gov’t and nothing is as it seems anymore.

Already our old friend Cato the Elder had something to say about double standard:
“Thieves of private property pass their lives on chains, thieves of public property in riches and luxury”
The s c o t u s is as corrupt as the rest of the U S government, do not expect justice from them.
