3. I always thought the Hans Gruber moniker was misplaced. He’s more like the Ellis character. Oh well, they both had a premature ending in the movie. If only real life would follow suit.

   1. That was my thought too. Also Gruber was competent and brutally efficient. Ellis was just a talker, much like Guilbeault.

5. I read the Globe’s coverage of COP28.
   It was an outstanding success! We are moving away from fossil fuels! We are setting up a fund to pay more money to cause the developing world to screw their economies by going solar and wind.
   I read other coverage. The oil producers in the ME are NOT moving away from fossil fuels. The third world countries leadership will take the pot of money and put it into their Swiss bank accounts.
   Winning!
   That is what should be being reported.
   Wonder how much of the Federal Governments Media fund is used to pay for the Globe’s reports to say what Geebo and Turdo want it to say.

6. Part of this effort to eliminate FF includes of course switching to flaming sparky cars. Guilbeault, his boss Trudeau and Doug Ford just pledged 10’s of billions to Volkswagen and Stellantis for their EV battery plants to be built in Ontario. But… Trudeau has also recently passed Bill S-211, which forces “Canadian businesses to report on forced labour and child labour in supply chains. It outlines the steps organizations must take to prevent and reduce the risk that operations, including those of third parties within the supply chain, make use of forced and/or child labour.” But… something like 90% of the worlds Cobalt supply needed for EV batteries comes via forced child labour in the Congo. Disconnect?

8. None of this much matters. The various COP conferences since 1992 have produced a string of agreements. These agreements have produced nothing whatsoever in actual results or measurable effects. Their only purpose is to provide an opportunity for a bunch of wannabes like Guilbeault or Guterres to prance around and exclaim to the world what a wonderful thing they have done for the environment. It’s all of no more significance than Potempkin Villages.

   What is interesting to note is that Justatwit did not go this year. He’s gone to all of the previous COP conferences since 2015, but not this year. There are two likely reasons for this: 1. he’s in far too much trouble in Canada to go wandering off to some party; or 2. his handler Telford suspected that this year’s COP would be a disaster and wanted to keep Justatwit from getting drenched with poo.

   That’s when ministers like Guilbeault are expendable and useful.

    1. Well they can try. The blow back when the economy grinds to a halt will bring out the guillotines. Oh…and by the way, Alberta can close the refineries as well….certainly in Ontario.

       1. There are pipelines that run from Montreal to Ontario – Ottawa being but one city – bringing fuel.
          (I’ve worked a couple jobs at two of the fuel terminals in the last couple years.)
          Some of it is jet fuel.
          No refinery, no Juthtin travel.
          This infrastructure is tremendously expensive and valuable.
          Its no fuel for the dirty tax slaves, but don’t kid yourself, the Canadian Elite will not do without.
          Guilbeault is insane and should be pushed off a building.

What I find it so frustrating is that Guilbeault and the rest of the climate change nuts ignore what Dr. Sultan Al- Jaber President of Cop 28 said ” There is no science out here, or no scenario out there , that says the phase out of fossil fuels is what’s going to achieve 1.5 C degree drop in temp!!!!!!

    So what does Brain dead Guilbeault do ? He ignores the Dr. and Head of Cop 28!!! WOW

    China is the only country in the world that benefits from this fraud. China does nothing, its emissions have exploded and China benefits from other countries falling for the fraud buying useless wind turbines and solar panels from China. China production costs drop due to their cheap energy and the production costs in the rest of the world rise due to the expensive and unreliable “green” energy.

    It’s the China equivalent of the old Khrushchev communist quip that the east would sell the west the rope with which it would hang itself.
