Danielle Smith is pushing back against the Trudeau regime. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for her to be arrested, fined, called a Nazi, or some old scandal suddenly surfaces.

IOW. Go F… Yourselves Trudeau, Guilbeault, Singh!
With a splintery cedar broomstick!
Okay. Or prickly ash, if there’s no cedar to be found.
Hawthorn.
I’m okay with that too. But there is nothing I can think of growing in these parts that causes infected scratches and punctures like prickly ash barbs. 🙂
Acacia.
Stinging Nettle.
With a hidden wasp nest inside for good measure.
Devils Club.
{golf clap}
Your jib, sir. I like the cut of it.
Why not the official provincial plant that adorns Alberta license plates – the Alberta Wild Rose.
If the feds don’t like it, invoke the notwithstanding clause.
The establishment of a limited Crown Corp for electricity is interesting. As I understand it, it would only hold electricity generation that is targeted by Federal government regulations like natgas. Would that be in name only for private corporations who own natural gas plants and then returned after the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government loses power? Or a permanent purchase?
I ask this because if the Alberta Crown Corp is the owner in name only to shield the companies from federal regulations and legal liabilities…then could a Crown Corp of Energy be used to shield oil and gas operations?
Like Sask, where the energy minister is the sole entity responsible for not collecting carbon tax.
Very good question, LC. I suspect this will depend entirely upon the agreement worked out between Alberta and the company projects that are being protected.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Saskatchewan and Alberta are certainly making some bold moves.
My newest favourite politician. Hit them where they live – using laws to promote power. Watch them howl.
A political popcorn moment, her now an honorary member of the Reagan-Thatcher-Harper realism club.
“Hit them where they live” indeed. The importance here is enormous. Oil and natural gas are Canada’s largest exports. The LPC has been trying to wrest away control of them from the provinces to the federal government for decades. The first overt attempt was the National Energy Program of 1980.

The Province of Alberta, created out of the North West Territories in 1905, was originally constituted as a colony of the Eastern Power Establishment. The Alberta Act, which established provincial status, excluded the province from the provisions in the BNA 1867 which granted provinces ownership of resources within their borders.
In 1930, the Mackenzie King Liberal government, and the Brownlee United Farmers government in Alberta, negotiated a constitutional document, (approved by the Imperial Parliament in London), which granted Alberta equal status with the “senior” provinces in owning her own resources:
“Schedule 2, Section 1. In order that the Province, [Alberta], may be in the same position as the original Provinces of Confederation are in virtue of section one hundred and nine of the Constitution Act, 1867, the interest of the Crown in all Crown lands, mines, minerals (precious and base) and royalties derived therefrom with the Province, and all sums due or payable for such lands, mines, minerals or royalties, shall, from and after the coming into force of this agreement and subject as therein otherwise provided, belong to the Province.”
That’s “Penile” … and dysfunctional with a capital D.
She should declare that Alberta will not recognize non-disclosure agreements relating to sexual offences with children.
“called a Nazi”
That ship sailed years ago. She’s now considered too extreme to be called a Nazi.
Not Socialist enough to be called a National-Socialist.
“Nazi” and ” Far right” is the “communist” of today.
Jr will have her bank accounts seized.
L – Premier Danielle Smith, who at a Premier’s conference, is surrounded by beta males.
The voice of experience speaks.
You either bend over for them or you stand up to them.
Guilbeault and Trudeau are bully-cowards.
Be polite and firm and legal.
And when that doesn’t work – and the Eastern Elites won’t allow it to, nor will that traitorous bag-face Notley – then you scorch their earth.
Because if you don’t, they’ll freeze people to death and blame you for it, such is their malignance.
I used to work in industrial places that had some pretty rough guys. We were told by the older women employees that with these guys you’ll have to make a choice between being a bitch or a doormat…and no one respects a doormat. Old time prairie feminists were/are a force of nature, mess with them at your peril.
The eastern media is completely flummoxed by Smith. “What is it she wants,” they ask themselves perplexed? If you have to ask…
Smith has told the Bong and gilbeault to but out. Stay in your lane. Electricity is provincial jurisdiction and your net zero by 2035 is ‘your’ made up timeline. We don’t agree. Now Bugger Off.
She’s got the Bongs attention.

Paid journalism at it’s finest. Even gets a dig in at Pierre at the end. This garbage will disappear once funding is cut. Do not read if you have high blood pressure.
Next Id like to see her get the ridiculous transmission and distribution charges axed – Alberta electricity rates are ridiculous – not the cost per kwH, but the bottom line with all additional charges in. More than double the bottom line rate of the commies in the province next door.
That’s the cost effect of the (16 Billion $?) southern Alberta transmission line project – all attributable to wind farms.
This is a political holding action because she knows, as everyone else does, that the supreme court is appointed by the liberals and made up of liberals (remember the liberals are the careerists where the NDP is made up of idealogues – but it’s just market stratification: the same party run by the same people under two names.) In the end Alberta loses.. and then what?
And then- Alberta declares Independence, followed by Saskatchewan. Shortly after, the ROC disintegrates.
Works for me, and I’m in BC, with a socialist twerp in charge.
Canada disintegrating would be glorious. It doesn’t deserve to exist, since it doesn’t matter.
As the Dauphin Himself put it, “Canada is a post-national state with no core identity.”
Well, not any more, it would seem . . .
The supreme court is the number one reason that we are living in a s**th*le.
And then we fall back on the foresight of Peter Lougheed and invoke the Notwithstanding Clause.
Right. Peter, who insisted on Aboriginal rights. Sections 35 and, I think, 36, in the Constitution. That’s worked out swell. Peter is at least as bad as Trudeau #1, who at least, originally, wanted everyone equal, until he calved to Peter and others of his ilk..
C’mon Blubber Douggie!
How about a strong show of support for AB!
And how about telling your little Printh buddy in Ottawa to f*** off for a long canoe ride by doing something similar to what Smith did.
C’mon. Get out from under that bed! It’s safe! The wind is blowing from left to right!
There’s a lot of things that can go wrong with the western provinces challenging Ottawa. I just hope and pray that Smith and Moe keep pouring it on. If they can’t win these battles, our whole country will be destroyed by those who have nothing but destruction on their minds
Maybe I missed it..But what are you hoping to save?
There are indeed “a lot of things that can go wrong with the western provinces challenging Ottawa”..
The worst would be the West continuing to tolerate Ottawa’s existence..
As for “If they can’t win these battles, our whole country will be destroyed by those who have nothing but destruction on their minds”.
That ship has long sailed.
Eastern Canadian Interests are not in the best interest of Western Canadians..
Confederated Canada is bankrupt.
What of this mess are you trying to prevent the destruction of?
The court may rule against Alberta but so what? The federal government is 0-2 in the last 2 rulings. The problem IS the over reach of the feds into provincial jurisdiction. Some of these problems need to be confronted and addressed.
Good on Smith for taking this on.
USE THE NOTWITHSTANDING CLAUSE.
