      Well, it’s a pretty good bet that he can afford it. His off shore accounts must be massive by now. And, lest we all forget (the media certainly did) Zelensky was actually listed in those Pandora Papers as having a hidden off shore account even before he took office by running on stopping the corruption. (it writes itself 😀 ). The irony of it was that the funds he was hiding off shore were made from royalties he acquired on Russian television. Not in the Ukraine.

      1. Yes, Justatwit will make up any fantasy no matter how absurd to try to distract the public from how deeply hated and unpopular his government is. The only thing that matters is the Lib-Dip alliance is out paced by the CPC by double digits and is sinking with every passing week. The Libs-Dips are so deeply hated that none of their leaders will make public appearances any more, not after Justatwit was mobbed twice publicly this past summer.

        So given how irrelevant Justatwit is to everyone who matters, it’s irrelevant what he says to anyone about anything including Ukraine.

Lex Fridman betrays some “naivete” by believing that there is a solid, traditional statesman among the players. “Human nature” is sordid and all wars are bankers wars: the US used Ukraine to recycle tons of aid money back in the US by having Ukraine buy US debt (Treasury Bonds). The whole “war” has been a sham, and very costly to the Ukrainians from a humanitarian perspective. I know personally a few displaced families.

      The Russians could do considerably more damage to Ukraine if they wanted to. Clearly they do not.

      And any ‘stalemate’ equals a victory for Russia….they get to dig in, entrench, fortify and consolidate their new territory. What does Ukraine get?
