2. Without a strong and traditional US along side a sane and muscular Europe, the entire world will descend into a massive food fight whose end will not be pretty. I use food fight as a metaphor for a disorganized total battle of all sides against one another when perhaps it is worth mentioning that there will be a very real fight for food too. And, as millions die off and industry, manufacturing and food production, are disrupted by war, the base to support the warlording elites will collapse and with that there will be a dark age. Darker than the last one.

   1. The author, Robert Harris, addresses your thoughts in his novel “The Second Sleep”, which takes place 400 years into the future. I forget the exact date (2020?) in the book, but there is a world wide electro-magnetic pulse from the Sun which takes down all the communication satellites, computers and electricity in the world. People flee the big cities to go to the country, where they kill the inhabitants and try to take over. Sadly, there seems to be NO competent people such as engineers, mathematicians, doctors and as a result the world falls into a second medieval period. The world truly becomes a giant “food fight” between the few “haves” and the many “have-nots”. As well, there is on-going war between Christianity and Islam.
      Definitely food for thought.
