Uh oh! there’s the roar of a $100 fine barreling down the tracks…
The federal ethics commissioner has launched an investigation into the chair of the board of directors of a federal green fund after she participated in the approval of more than $200,000 in grants to a private firm she directed.
In a letter to Conservative MP Michael Barrett on Thursday, Ethics Commissioner Konrad von Finckenstein said he will examine the conduct of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) board chair Annette Verschuren.
Verschuren is also chair and chief executive officer of NRStor Inc., a Toronto-based energy storage firm. She confirmed to a parliamentary committee last week that as SDTC’s chair, she participated in approving grants to NRStor totalling $217,000 in 2020 and 2021.
Previous: “free money” to well connected Liberals.
Simulation alert: …how did someone, in this day and age, named Konrad von Finckenstein get this position?

Ethics are for people who don’t have morals.
Liberals don’t even have those, hence their success in a shameless world.
It would be more newsworthy if there was an example from this regime that didn’t include gross conflict of interest, blatant vote-buying, or direct funding of NGOs engaged in activities against their political enemies.
Makes AdScam look like a bunch of pikers
Wish I could get one of those $100 fines.
The only news here is how did someone, in this day and age, named Konrad von Finckenstein get this position?
Konrad von Finckenstein may have an odd sounding name but his credentials are significant.
The stench of corruption is starting to smell as bad as a rotting corpse. At what point will the RCMP get involved?
When they are no longer paid for by the Liberal/NDP coalition. Even if we get a new government, we need to disband the RCMP. They are totally and utterly corrupt and useless. Brenda Lucki was just a symptom of systemic rot.
The fines should start at 125% of the alleged benefits/corruption and go up from there for repeat offenders…
I’m really upset because I’m a member of the fringe minority who did NOT get any of the money skimmed from the 50 million intended for the arrivecan app.
