I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords

Lex Fridman: Sam Altman out at OpenAI This feels like a big deal.

OpenAI just sent shockwaves through the tech industry by announcing that Sam Altman is out as CEO — and members of the tech community are freaking out.

The board of the AI company, which is behind ChatGPT, announced on Friday that it had lost confidence in Altman — who cofounded OpenAI in 2015 — to lead the company, citing that Altman was “not consistently candid in his communications.”

(I amuse myself.)

President and co-founder Greg Brockman too.

  1. This doesn’t answer the important questions.

Can lazy students still use ChatGPT to plagiarize their homework?

  2. Now he can spend his time prepping some more. Maybe an underground “safe room” with secret ventilation shaft … for when AI launches a biological WAR on the human race … ?

    1. Always wondered. if I needed more questions answered Gpchat would say I’m exhausted with this particular question and I’m turning you over to another computer or I’m exhausted on this particular issue and I’m going to turn you over to another programmer.
Glad I dropped the gpchat. It was wearing out so many little slave labors .
It also missed a large math subtraction question only by one point but I knew something was wrong.

  3. I’m adamant about not knowing how I’m going to leave this world. So, when I hear that the head of a leading artificial intelligence outfit is canned by those closest to him for not being candid; well, lets just say it’s concerning.

  4. You amuse way more than yourself! Tnx.

(By the way the, it seems REAL PEOPLE are still in charge. It gets much more serious when the AI creature starts cutting staff.)
