    1. Not likely. Disney seems to be doubling down. Kathleen Kennedy is supposed to be Disney’s successor as President and CEO Bob Iger. This is called “failing upward.” It would appear that Disney is on a direct path of losing as much money as possible as quickly as possible. In just over a year, Disney’s stock has lost 1/3rd of its value. Disney’s stock is collapsing almost as fast as the Dutch Tulip Scandal starting in 1637.

Disney forgot that people want entertainment companies to entertain, not to provide what these companies think to be moral improvement indoctrination.

  1. The main market for Hollywood movies today is Communist China. Even the Chinese don’t care to watch Hollywood productions with woke pretensions.

On top of that the Hollywood studios owe the Chinese a mint, and the Chinese are now demanding a good return on their western investments, because they need the money to cover their own bounced cheques. It’s the Chinese who will eventually do away with Hollywood wokism, not American audiences.

  2. The Disney Corporation, where Billion Dollar Intellectual Properties go to die.

    Star Wars
    Indiana Jones
    Marvel MCU (The M!-She!-U!)
    Toy Story

They are even destroying their own property like “The Little Mermaid” and “Snow White.”

  3. I’ve taken to watching foreign flicks, the Hollywood garbage isn’t even worth pirating anymore.
Recently, I’ve watched “Sputnik” and “Invasion” from Russia, “The Long Walk” from Laos, “The Color Out of Space” from Portugal, and I have “IB 71” from India and “The Masters of Time” from France lined up.
The Japs do some good work too, like their “Claymore” series, “Vexille” and “Ghost in the Shell.

    1. There’s certainly some good anime out there, but you have to go back at least ten years for it. I’m not sure whether it’s the demands of the US market or if it’s gone to sh!t at the source, but anime has and has always had a serious degeneracy problem. You mention Claymore – “society turns cute girls into an unwilling weapon of mass destruction” is so common as a trope you can search by it on most anime database sites.

  4. That one in the middle….is that “Captain Marijuana?” Or, I suppose it could be “Captain Top of a Pineapple.”

  5. The real question is…. They may be woke, but they also know woke don’t sell well, so why continue to pour money down the drain like they do with numerous movies? There is an evil agenda here, and they plan to continue to execute it. It’s all part of the global control plan!

Gender dysphoria, alphabet mafia, attacks on christian lifestyles, support for “Palestine”, War, digital currencies, vaccines, etc, the list is long, and it’s been planned for a long time. Our way of life is being deliberately turned inside out to make us more vulnerable and easier to manipulate. Ultimately to control and enslave us all!

  6. Star Wars, James Bond, Dr. Who, and many others are part of the mythos of the west. The west, much like the USSR did, has tried to replace Mythos with Logos, with entirely predicable results. Even Hitler wasn’t so stupid; he tried to adapt old Teuton Mythos to further his evil ends.
Beware of all folk who try to get everybody moving in the same direction, as they are the enemy of a free people.
We have a choice: Hobbs vs Locke.
    Choose wisely.

  7. Having a hard time recalling the Marvel Comic series of all-female she-roes.
Must have slept through that summer of childhood.
On another note, what was/is Nissan thinking, anyways? What a reprehensible harridan she is. Can’t even call her sexy whatsoever, just a huge turnoff.
Not a surprising box office return. There’s no there, there!

    1. Marvel comics used to be cool.
I remember one I read, where Spider Man encounters Wolverine about to rip out the throat of a young woman. Spider-man interferes, and the young lady dies in agony. Then Wolverine reveals to Spider Man that she wanted to die at Wolverine’s merciful hands, as she was targeted by so many enemy forces that her fate was a foregone conclusion, and she didn’t want to be tortured to death and have the enemy glean whatever info. she had.
      Kid stuff.
Don’t get me going on what they have done to The Beyonder.

    1. So, what’s your point?
The best that Disney has produced recently still isn’t even worth pirating for free.

    2. “But I saw this yesterday. YMMV, but apparently it’s not the worst Disney had produced recently:”

Maybe not, but they lost me when they first made Captain Marvel a woman, and seeing her flanked by a Latina and a black woman definitely doesn’t help matters. Similarly, the Little Mermaid wasn’t black and Snow White wasn’t Latina…and none of the Star Wars heroes were effeminate ‘metrosexuals’ or whatever…

      1. There is nothing wrong with the Litter Mermaid being black. Also, Hallie Barrey can sing. That movie was terrible for a myriad other races and if the presence of a black person drives you up the wall, you might have a problem.

Honestly, Captain Marvel lost me when she was Captain Marvel. I hate CM for the same reason I hate Superman: too super. No tension.

        1. They lost me when I grew up. Comic books and comic book movies are aimed at at 10-16 yo audience.

          1. The Stan Lee quote is “our books are for 8-15 year old boys, because once they turn 16 they discover girls and then we’ve lost them.”

Children are supposed to graduate from simplistic heroes and mythologies to more complex ones as they grow up. One of the reasons movies like Superman Returns and Ant-Man jar so badly is that the writers are trying to mash up modern adult concerns (being a divorced father) with guys in tights beating each other up and ending every sentence with an exclamation point!.

        2. “There is nothing wrong with the Litter Mermaid being black. ”

Yeah, there is…it’s deliberately exploitive, insulting and gratuitous pandering strictly for the sake of appearing ‘woke’.

“That movie was terrible for a myriad other races and if the presence of a black person drives you up the wall, you might have a problem.”

My problem is a lack of patience for morons like you who seemingly enjoy having this PC crap shoved in their faces, while insisting that anyone who doesn’t “has a problem”. Oh, and GFY.

  8. You mean no one wanted to go see the tertiary character: Captain Mary-Sue Flatass, and the 2 diverse Clones, fight against a villain that no one has heard of?

  9. The left-wing Globe and Mail reviewer sang yesterday praises of The Marvels movie, claiming that it would be a guaranteed hit. And the Disney flick has received positive reviews on Rotten Tomztoes. Again there is a wide gulf between the elites and the commoners.

    1. No kidding. The Mop and Wail movie reviewer in the early Zeroes, Liam Lacey, dished Lord of the Rings, predicting its absolute failure as a movie and with the audience. Lord of the Rings went on to dominate movie theatres for all three years 2001-3. It turned Peter Jackson into practically a household word.

These left-wing movie reviewers are all the same. They want movies to preach the values they have rather than the main function: simply to entertain.

      1. Liam was a roommate while at college first year.
5 years later crossed paths at the Bloor-Yonge station. Said hellos and he gave me a newspaper, can’t take this into the office, says he.
        Toronto Sun lol.

  10. “With bad buzz and actors like Brie Larson unable to promote the film due to the SAG strike (which finally ended on Friday), “The Marvels” didn’t even match those disappointing estimates.”

Because more Brie Larson promotion would help?

  11. Haysoos was a Joo, Satan is JOO, and so is hollyweird. One has to wonder why some people ever watched any of that shit. The only thing my brother and I watched , was the road runner and Bugs Bunny, and they werew /are more believable than any of today’s crap.
Haven’t watched TV , at home for about 20 years now.
Not been to a movie in over 40 years. Butt the brain dead still do.

  12. Congrats on making the Mexican chick FAT … now all that’s missing is a really skinny Asian woman with no ass whatsoever. Driving recklessly.

Funny thing … in their zeal to make the movie “diverse” … they’ve managed to include every stereotype ever established in the REAL world.

  13. Young people don’t have a movie culture like us old guys do. I used to go to movies a lot as a teen, less so as I got older, but I still go now if there is something I’m interested in. The last movie I saw was Oppenheimer. I intend to go see Napoleon, when it comes out in the next few weeks.

I took my kids to see movies when they were younger, they’ve grown up and don’t live with us anymore. AFAIK neither of my kids has ever gone to a movie theater for a movie unless it was with me. Seeing movies isn’t part of their culture, like watching TV isn’t either. If you want to make money at the box office, you have to make movies that will be interesting to the people who go to movies, and for the most part that isn’t people who are interested in superhero movies.

    1. Why would you think that? Superhero movies made bank until not too long ago. There are a variety of reasons for the change but it absolutely interested people. Captain Marvel and Phase 4 MCU do not interest people.

      1. You got me there. All the super hero movies I’ve seen were because I was taking my kids, now they’re grown I won’t be seeing any more, and they probably won’t either because they don’t watch movies.

  14. Just wanted to say that The Holdovers is really good and along with Oppenheimer feels like a return to higher-brow but non-pretentious cinema as a serious art form.

  15. Sad. The Guardians of the Galaxy (1) was excellent. (2) was good. Sounds like that’s when it all fell down.

  16. I am from the golden age of Marvel, when the comics were churned out by Stan the Man Lee, Jack Kirby the King, and Steve Ditko, Roy Thomas, and a few others.
I sold my first edition of Spiderman for $1,200 in 1974. It is now worth $3.9 M.
    My bad.
As for today’s Marvel Universe. Fook Off. You missed the intention. Namely, reading comics and growing an imagination. A pox on your CGI shite and PC crap.
To wit on the old days…reading Thor paved the way to reading the Bible and being familiar with “thee” and “ye.”
    Excelsior!

    1. Or:
      “Wanted Dead or Alive”
“To Live and Die in LA”
      “Dirty Harry”
      “The Last Boy Scout”
      “True Lies”
      “Delta Force”
      “Lone Wolf Mcquade”
      “Boondock Saints”
      … and so many others.

        1. “The Dirty Dozen” come to think off it, pretty much everything with Lee Marvin especially “The Klansman”.

  17. My 2 cents.. The Marvel movies were male eye candy.. I suspect a lot of the fans were women.. Or this is what put it over the top.. These ladies lack the candy to go it alone.. Simple as that..

I put this in the content category.. They make this stuff to put it on their streaming services.. An all you can eat buffet of crap.. 100 million people will watch it for a nickel and it will be a huge success.. lols..

    Always a plan B..
