Yes and instead of worrying about non existent Islamophobia the world should be demanding Islam go through a similar reformation and enlightenment. Being stuck in the 7th century deserves only scorn. The one difference I would point out in your comparison is that any acts of this nature performed by Christians actually went against the teachings of Jesus while Muslims are only doing what their prophet and book urges them to do.
