Populist right tops Swiss elections
The SVP’s election campaign focused on its favourite theme: the fight against “mass immigration” and the prospect of the Swiss population reaching 10 million.
Its “New normal?” social media adverts, spotlighting criminal cases perpetrated by foreigners, plunged into a world of bloodied knives, hooded criminals, fists, bruised faces and frightened women.
It also launched a war on “cancel culture” and what it calls “gender terror and woke madness”.
“The situation in Switzerland is serious: we have mass immigration, we have big problems with people seeking asylum. The security situation is no longer the same as before,” Thomas Aeschi, head of the SVP parliamentary group, told AFP.
“There are many people in Switzerland who fear the situation will get worse.”
The SVP — which is strongly anti-EU — fiercely defends Switzerland’s long-standing military neutrality and feels Bern pushed the principle too far by matching EU sanctions on Russia over its war in Ukraine.
Aeschi said the SVP “wants good relations with the European Union but what we don’t want is an agreement where Switzerland must do what the EU says”.
The EU is an unelected pseudo parliament and all Europeans would wisely exit membership. Trade agreements can be done bilaterally.
“A classified intelligence report revealed a possible Russian influence campaign…” I guess it is not a crime to disclose the contents of a classified intelligence report that contains no more information in it than the uncertainty and puzzlement of its authors?
I just wish that people from all walks of life would stop using the term “classified” to mean “special, exclusive, sneaky stuff”.
It is meaningless jargon, borrowed from entertainment scripts written by people who perpetually live in an echo chamber and deliberately divorce themselves from reality.
ALL “information” is “classified.
It could be “open” (unclassified), Restricted, Confidential, Secret, all the way to “Burn before Reading”
Understanding the differences and being aware of the consequences for breaching certain “classifications” is a life-preserving skill.
Everyone is waking up to the problem but is it too late?

So I’m wondering when the western geniuses who continually voted and legislated us into this “new reality” figure out that the rest of the world has collaborated and laid the groundwork for western collapse?
Of course our leaders are playing “pro-nouns” and worried about tanny lap-dancing not being allowed in schools, while everyone else is teaming up and moving chess pieces one slight move at a time.

Immigration policy is a funny thing – it’s never brought up or explicitly debated during election campaigns, so winning parties can never claim to have received a mandate for such suicidal policies.
Boosting reckless levels of immigration is always done on the sly, then mentioned in articles as a fait accompli that we must all just simply accept, or be labeled racist or xenophobic. Why is that? Likely for the same reasons they give on other top-down policies foisted on us – if they were up front about them we’d quickly realize how destructive they actually are, beneath the saccarrine bromides of “diversity”, “inclusion”, etc.

‘ Liberals president Thierry Burkart told RTS that the migration issue allowed the SVP to win, and to stop them winning again in 2027, “it is a subject that we must take seriously. We must provide solutions.”
Only one solution is necessary.
Lessons learned?.. I doubt it.. A numbers game of migrants not wanting or willing to intergrate with the host culture that took them in.. Its nothing 300 years cant cure but how is that even slightly helpful today?..
