The Libranos: ArriveScam

“When you go with a deep dive into the particular story, it goes beyond misconduct. It goes into criminality. And that’s why the RCMP is investigating it,” he said during the meeting. “There are allegations regarding identity theft, fraudulent forged resumes, contractual theft, fraudulent billing, price fixing, collusion, all with senior bureaucrats with the Government of Canada and the three contractors in question.”

  1. (((Kristian Firth, managing partner of GCStrategies, told a Parliamentary committee last year that his company has no stand-alone office and just two employees, himself and his business partner, Darren Anthony. Neither of them perform IT work themselves. Instead, they hire subcontractors to do the work, and GCStrategies collects fees of between 15 per cent and 30 per cent of contract values.)))

Nice “work” if you can get it. I believe Tony Soprano held a similar position.

    1. Mafia contracting practices…a deal you can’t refuse! 🙂

    2. I should clarify. I’m all for privatization when it comes to projects initiated by the government. And, arguably, this is an effort at privatization. But it’s, also, an exercise in laziness and largess. The role of GCStrategies should have been performed by the government. They should have the “subcontractor” entities on file to contact directly depending upon the project. Instead, the lazy government employee(s) farmed out their own job to GCStrategies and allowed them to tack on 15% to 30% to the overall cost (in addition to that government employee’s salary/benefits/etc.) GCStrategies pulled in their take for, basically, flipping through an electronic rolodex (something the lazy government employee is paid rather handsomely to do).

This doesn’t even touch on circumventing the bidding process or disproportionate charges not reflective of the work. Whoever brought GCStrategies on board needs two things. 1. A thorough job performance review. 2. A forensic accounting review.

      1. The government’s only work should be with creating a healthy open business environment, infrastructure, border security, monitoring banks and some agriculture related things.

The government has no business being in business. There is a huge difference between government and business, so those must be kept part just like the separation of church and state.

Government has become far too ubiquitous in our society. They are attempting to micro manage the entire population of Canada.

That is not healthy at all.

      2. I don’t think this was an effort at privatizing projects initiated by government.

I think it was a form of money laundering.

  2. So we’re just going to overlook the fraud and lies put out by CPHA that the injections were tested and properly deemed ‘safe and effective’ and advised the government to force every citizen to take one?
    Meh.

    1. Time for Andrew Coyne to do his Pro Wrestling schtick where he goes into some twitter frenzy for 5 minutes.

  3. How dare you call it a “scam”!

As Gerald Butts, I think, always said, “From each according to their ability, to each according to their party affiliation”.

  4. The “company” of rent seekers came into existence in 2015, before Trudeau came to power… and have been sucking at the government teat ever since.

    1. … and the trimming has to be both regular and substantial. The suckers have to be promptly removed as well.

  5. …identity theft, fraudulent forged resumes, contractual theft, fraudulent billing, price fixing, collusion, all with senior bureaucrats with the Government of Canada…

    So, Lieberal business as usual…

  6. I did the Arrivescam app and showed up at the border to enter my own country and discovered I didn’t have the right COVID test. Although I had no symptoms, I was threatened with a $3000.00+ fine. I turned around. It only got worse. Returning later with the right test, I had to quarantine although again I had no symptoms. Extremely frustrating and as it turned out, totally unnecessary. The testing I had to do to leave quarantine got all screwed up. My two week quarantine turned into three. Finally, I just said F it. I’m probably a fugitive.

    1. You were not sick so not a quarantine but a house arrest.
So obnoxious how the government misuses the word quarantine.I am sure there was some psychological reason they call it that.

      1. Exactly. The police actually came and knocked on the door a couple days later to check on me. They were embarrassed to be doing it but did it.

    2. And they have the nerve to now be prosecuting two brave people who finally organized a protest against this egregious government abuse of power. Just sickening.

  7. They were doing the only natural resource harvesting readily available in Canada today, mining the government’s line of credit, exploitation of national human resources/labour. They’ve harvested all national accumulated wealth and are working on all future wealth.

  8. As I have written, time and again when it comes to Government spending……..and been proven right, time and again.

The Liberal Party of Canada…..”We always get a piece of the action”

  9. Oh goodie another Parliamentary Ethics Commission coming soon to find Trudeau “guilty” for the 6th time.

  10. I read some where on the net today that the NDP paid off 20 million of their election debt and only owe another 2 million thus I wonder if they were involved in the alleged corruption?

  11. I traveled across the border during the ArriveCan App time with my parents. I did my own form. They did theirs as they were a household. When it was time to show the agent, my parents got locked out. They couldn’t remember their email passwords and so they couldn’t access anything. All their passwords are written on a paper they keep in their house, as they are in their 70’s and it’s a lot of work trying to remember everything. I was worried my parents were going to be denied entry to their own country because of technological illiteracy.
When the agent asked to see our QR code I showed him mine and said my parents were part of my household. He looked at it and waved us all through. It was a joke. I could have showed him a forgery or screen shot of someone else’s app. There was no digital confirmation on his end.
I’m convinced the whole thing was to funnel money to Liberal friends.

    1. Too bad they couldn’t have extended their fraud to injecting all of us with saline instead of poisoning us.

  12. From the post (my bold): “There are allegations regarding identity theft, fraudulent forged resumes, contractual theft, fraudulent billing, price fixing, collusion, all with senior bureaucrats with the Government of Canada and the three contractors in question.”

See? If y’all would just pay your Goobermint employees more, they wouldn’t have to figure out ways to boost their income. C’mon, man. How do you expect them to keep up the payments on that 4,500 sq. ft. house… and pay off those Cancun vacations? Those poor, poor underpaid bureaucrats.

  13. … and the clown car of the Turdeau government completes another lap around the toilet bowl.

  14. What exactly are the corrupt RCMP “investigating” ?
That the Liberal/NDP Party are criminals ?
Of course they are, but the RCMP will do nothing even if the evidence of criminality is overwhelming…
nothing will happen… thats how corrupt third world shitholes work…
    Haiti North.
Do people really believe that the gangsters that rule over this country are worried about,
“an RCMP investigation” ? Come on…
Its all for show and nothing more…
The Librano/NDP in the PMO make one phone call to their employees encrusted within the RCMP command and guess what,,? Nothing to see hear people… yes huge swaths of taxpayer money was stolen by the Liberal/NDP Party and laundered through Liberal/NDP friendly agencies, just like Adscam… so what…?
    Business as usual.
Chuck Guitay or whatever that assholes name was is unavailable for comment.
    Rinse repeat.
Thats how we roll up here in Haiti North.

  15. I look forward to the RCMP investigation of the whole Covid scam… just kidding.
    Sometimes humour helps.
