Yes. But isn’t that how weasels act?
So far I think Menendez is 4 for 4 in getting charges dismissed or being found not guilty. He’s not the type to take a plea. And, it would not surprise me if the prosecutor that is bringing these charges takes one on the chin (not relative to losing the case), but for opening up a potential can of worms on the Biden Criminal Organization.
You could make the argument that this is a purposeful effort to get Biden to voluntarily drop out of his re-election ambitions. But, there are a couple things that negate that. First, Joe’s not a deep enough thinker to understand the ramifications of this going forward. To threaten someone they have to understand the basis of the threat. Joe’s not up to the task. Secondly, I don’t think the DOJ is competent enough to be that Machiavellian.
I think the connection between Menendez and Biden’s bagmen was something they might have overlooked when throwing together this show trial to try and neutralize the “two-tier justice system” talk.
