    1. “Turns out 30% of Martens staff are LBGTPed, and they like producing rainbow coloured footwear and clothing.”

      Get woke, go broke.

How hard is this to figure out?

You didn’t *need* to put out rainbow-colored boots. LGB people (sorry, no T here) would still buy your product if you didn’t do that. But now you have alienated and angered the straight people who are *the majority of your customers*, and it is costing you money. Did you learn nothing from Gillette? From Pepsi? From Nike? From Disney? From Bud Light? No? Not a thing?

Who makes these idiotic decisions to inject politics into the retail sector, and why?

“Historically, internal combustion engine (ICE) car sales in America are upwards of 55 million annually with about 15 million or 27 percent being new and 40 million or 73 percent being used car sales.”

“To date, the EV industry has virtually no used car market! In addition to the constant EV charging challenges, who wants a used EV that may soon need an expensive battery replacement?”

      1. Could this also signal problems with the battery plants the Liberals have so generously funded? 11 million PER job for the London VW plant.

        1. LindaL – Virtue signaling is expensive. But most likely, yes. The other question is, will other countries, like the USA, want to buy highly subsidized batteries since they clearly violate free-trade mandates.

    1. I think bonuses in the public sector are inappropriate. In the private sector, they are tied to company performance ( or should be.). What is the measure in the public sector for giving bonuses? I think it is just bureaucrats giving themselves an extra perk. Their generous salaries are enough of a perk to encourage good performance. If they think they also deserve bonuses, they shouid get a job in the private sector.

      1. Linda, You’re exactly right. Performance in the public sector is so miserable, it probably isn’t even measured. If there are standards and performance measurements, those measurements should be available for the tax-paying public to review.

In one glaring example, Joe Biden owes every American citizen about $20,000 (paid out of his own pocket) as compensation for his miserable mis-management of the economy over the last two years. Impoverishing citizens is called “Bidenomics”.

        1. roaddog – “Impoverishing citizens” and paying billions more in interest due to credit rating downgrades is also Bidenomics.

LindaL – “generous salaries” for what work they do perhaps but the biggest perk for DND and various other government employees is the benefits (100% coverage prescription and dental, for life, for example) and the better-than-649 pensions. DND personnel (lower levels) lost their lives in Afghanistan, so there is that.

          1. Public Service Health Care Plan pays out 80% of eligible expenses. It was an OK plan but certainly not great as many things were not covered or capped. That said, since the bungled transition from SunLife to CanadaLife, things have been cut so it’s arguably worse. With the provincial seniors prescription plan having kicked in, I’m starting to doubt if the 146 bucks/month is money well spent. On last script, PSHCP paid 20 buck while province covered 340 bucks…my share was 5 bucks out of my pocket.

The Pensioners Dental Services Plan pays out 90% of eligible expenses but is capped at $1500.00 per person. (Although I would have to go check to see if it’s been increased this year.) Great for dental hygiene appointments but one root canal and crown and you’re done for the year and will need to pay out of pocket.

That said, both plans are better than nothing which sadly is what a lot of people end up with.

  2. Just an FYI – two devices on vpn in my house – one running US and one Canada. SDA shows as unavailable on the US vpn system. Not the first time I have seen this. Switch to Canada vpn – SDA comes back.
Also – Android disabled VPN on my phone to “save power” on a fully charged device and really didn’t want to let me turn it back on. Average person would not have even noticed their vpn was off

    1. After that, why am I getting visions of thousands and thousands and thousands of people shuffling around building the Great Pyramids courthouses, libraries, and whatnot in Boston, roaddog?

Pro tip: Go long on wheelbarrows and shovels

      1. HR,
I was thinking exactly the same thing. But then, the tires on wheelbarrows are made from petroleum products…and who knows how far this insanity will delve into the origins of tools? Steel for shovels? Not making steel without metallurgical coal.

oh look, a concentration of red votes, we gotta make kind of an ‘isthmus’ to reach out and capture them.
yielding a riding/district demarcation line in spots looks like tree branches. or roughly shape of a random long, narrow, deep underground natural tunnel/cave system. things happening out of sight. red and blue both like that, but only things in their favour.

Canada’s new justice minister said on Monday that the government will act to address the heightened sense of insecurity felt by certain sections of the population, though “empirically” it is unlikely Canadians are less safe from crime, he said.

Arif Virani, a Toronto member of parliament, was appointed justice minister in a broad cabinet shuffle by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week…
