Much too short a time line for making that kind of prediction. She should have said 10 years, like all the rest of the alarmists over the past 40 years.

A Top Harvard professor of chemistry made that claim. Little Greta Von Pedoberg just repeated it. He’s a Top Climate scientist … a real Top man in the world of doomsday predictions. And all the Top Science magazines … real Top media … woefully agreed. Ohhhhhhhhh Mommmmaaaaaaaaaaa
I notice that her jacket is made of nylon or possibly polyester – both fabrics produced from the byproducts of oil.
Today’s high in my corner of South Dakota has been 61 degrees. It has rained and been foggy for months with minor breaks. And cold. I recently returned from Reno NV and Salt Lake City where it has been cold and rainy for MONTHS as well.
I am more inclined to believe in the COMING ICE AGE!! from the predictions of my 1970’s high school years than I am of CO 2 warming our planet to oblivion.

To be fair, she didn’t say the world would end today, just that it would be too late to do anything to save ourselves. So since we are now beyond salvation, we should just relax and enjoy our fossil fuel consumption for whatever time we have left.

I especially loved that Mayan calendar doom date countdown; that nearly killed me because I couldn’t read the damn thing, but I tried.
We do have a potential frost advisory. Apparently global warming increases the potential for summer frost.
Oh well, we’re all doomed eventually. Hard to predict the date, however.

The climate scientist was basing his claim on the loss of summer sea ice in the arctic. {see Kenji’s link]
Clearly, it does not say that we will be wiped out in five years.
The claim is that we will have reached a point where we can no longer avoid catastrophe.
Some are speculating that we have.
But as yogi said, prediction is hard, especially about the future.
Lord how I miss the planet.

Do you mean do say that Winnipeg having the climate of Minneapolis is going to kill everyone? Makes sense. Minneapolis is kinda like the Sahara, isn’t it? Any Canadian who objects to real global warming is an asshole. 40 below will kill you. Minneapolis won’t even give you a good tan.
